The Hannaford on Ulster Ave in Kingston has gone SIGNIFICANTLY downhill. I remember when this used to be one of their best stores a few years ago. Then last year it began getting worse and this year it has become horrible. The store is absolutely filthy, even before the renovations began. The dairy cases are disgusting. There is mold, dried up spills, dirt, and grime all along and under the shelving in the center case where the eggs, juice, and milk are. The yogurt and cheese cases have black mold, spills, and dirt on the bottom shelf. These sections are beyond disgusting. The bathroom has mold and dust in the ceiling vents. The store has been under construction for months and is extremely difficult to shop in. Since the renovation began, product quality has become horrible. There are many expired, rotten, and spoiled foods on the shelves that aren’t being removed. Cases are dirty, floors are dirty, shelving is dirty, some items have dust or dirt on them, all the freezers are constantly leaking or breaking down. One day there were 3 broken coolers with nothing in them. The product selection keeps shrinking, many items they used to carry have disappeared or aren’t being carried anymore. Even the floor space of the store feels MUCH smaller and more cramped. Prior to the remodel, it was open and spacious but now it feels congested, crowded, and cramped. Usually remodels open up the space more but that’s not the case here. The staff and customers seem unhappy and stressed. Overall, this once good store has become an absolute nightmare. I have shopped in supermarkets while construction and remodeling has been ongoing (including other Hannaford stores) and I have NEVER seen a remodel so poorly managed like this store’s is. Even the Kingston Plaza remodel was better than this. I really hope it’s worth it in the end, because right now they’re losing many angry, frustrated customers. I’m not sure what has happened to Hannaford but the whole chain seems to be going downhill rapidly. They just redid the New Windsor store earlier this year and it came out beautiful. Yet they changed management quickly after, and the new managers are nowhere near as good as the previous one and have run the store down quickly. A real shame since it was just redone. Something needs to change at Hannaford because these stores are going downhill fast.

I sat in the parking lot and waited while my wife was shopping. I had a good time, checking my social media and making plans with my sister to get sushi next weekend. My wife wasn’t happy with Hannaford at all and that makes me unhappy. My wife said that the place is always torn up And under construction like there was just a fire or an airplane crashed into the building. We like the Hannaford in Red Hook but my wife says we hate this Hannaford. If you need groceries, I suggest you go somewhere else.

This store has been under construction for some time. Not being able to find food products you are searching for is normal due to construction. However, employees suggesting to go to the office to find the location of a product or to have one checkout open with six to ten people waiting is not customer service. I will not go back,,,

Good place to get groceries. Renovations made things a bit tough to find, but that was only temporary.

When I couldn’t figure out how to back out of a screen on self checkout I asked for help and was greeted by an employee who thought it was funny so I did question that and she said all you have to do is learn how to read then when I asked what she said a young girl who was checking out said “she said you have to learn how to read “ I’m 60 I’ve never experienced anything like this from customer service staff .. I’m done with Hannaford
