Squid seafood pasta served lukewarm warm and shells ice cold. Chicken and sausage meal was drenched in some red sauce that had no flavor.

I remember when it was impossible to get a reservation here, and for good reason. The past couple of times I had the food, though, it just missed the mark. Last night, I paid $70 for the poached pear and goat cheese salad, cacio e pepe, and herbed potatoes. The salad was 95% arugula with barely anything in it, the dressing was overly sweet, the cacio e pepe was drowing in oil and ruined the overall flavor, and the potatoes looked like they were leftover brunch “home fries” re-seasoned for dinner. I picked up my order and saw that the place was virtually empty, on a Saturday night. Many of the other spots around Vespa were packed. It really is sad. Not in a pity sort of way, but a true sadness. I am crossing my fingers that management at Vespa reads this review and any other constructive reviews, looks in the mirror, and decides change is necessary. I want this place to be great and full of patrons.
