    I recently stopped by Mike & Pop’s for lunch with my brother, and it was such a fantastic experience! 😄 We both ordered the French onion soup and shared a classic beef on weck, and honestly, everything was impressive. The French onion soup really stood out 🍲🧀 — it was a unique twist on a classic favorite! The cheese on top had that perfect golden crisp, and the broth had a subtle sweetness that made it unlike any soup I’ve had before. It was absolutely delicious and definitely above most versions I’ve tried. The kummelweck roll was soft and fresh, topped with that traditional salt and caraway mix that makes it so special 🥖✨ The beef was flavorful, though I wish it had been just a touch more tender. Still, it made for a satisfying sandwich overall. The real highlight of the visit was our server, Bradley 🙌 He was attentive, friendly, and really made the meal feel special. Great service can make all the difference, and he absolutely delivered. Overall, a wonderful lunch experience — I’ll definitely be coming back! 🌟

    One of our all time favorites Adam at Mike and Pops who always takes care of us did a solid. His diet fountain pop ran out and he immediately sent Marley, another favorite to get Diet Pepsi for us. We like whiskey and diet. LOL. Always treats us like we’re VIP. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND MIKE AND POPS! Ask for Adam at the bar. Jim and Rose

    On Friday night, I had a very frustrating experience here. I waited at the hostess stand for over 10 minutes and no one acknowledged me. After getting no assistance, I decided to sit at the bar, where there was 3 open seats. I waited another 15 minutes without being served or even greeted. I think it was the bartender or manager that finally came over—he was tall and skinny, wearing a red long sleeve dress shirt and tie— when he approached, he was immediately rude and told me I couldn’t sit there because the seats were “reserved”. I have never heard of bar seats being reserved. In a nasty tone he said we could “hover over there” and aggressively pointed and said maybe something would open up later, then walked away. When I tried to ask if we could at least order a drink and how long the wait might be, he dismissively replied that he couldn’t tell me. He then asked if I wanted a bar seat or a table and sarcastically said, “Did you go to the hostess stand?” I explained that yes we waited there and nobody helped. He told us to go stand there again. When the hostess finally came over, she said we could put our name on the list and that it would be a 30-minute wait—despite there being six open tables. In total, I wasted over 25 minutes trying to get assistance, only to be treated rudely. I have gone here several times and the service is always terrible. I will not be coming back here.

    This was our second time here and we were so excited to be back! What a disappointment. Our server Jennifer, visited our table twice before our 40 min wait (did she take a lunch break??) for our food. Once to bring us water, once to take our orders. There was no explanation on why the food was taking so long, and there was no refill on our water jug. My kid's burgers were well and burnt (they weren't asked how they wanted them), steak sandwich was luke warm and its bread was soggy and melted. Club sandwich was mediocre, but was cleary sitting for a while, as the cheese was becoming one with the bread. Food taste was poor/average. After we got our food, our server came back once to ask if we needed anything; but didn't give any opening to talk about our experience or food. Brought the receipt and immediately came to collect it.. best service of the day! Going out is a luxury, we expected good food and good service. Sad to say we won't be back.

    I’ll preface this long review. This was the first time in about 5-6 years I’ve ever had to send food back. It was that bad. Jennifer G was our server. Worst experience I’ve actually had with a server out of any restaurant I’ve been to. Our food came out ice cold with completely soggy cold fries and cold sandwiches. I said my food is cold to the server. Instead of going oh our bad, she immediately got defensive and said I just watched him pull your food so that’s impossible. Not sure what planet she’s lives on because I’ve never heard of food being cold after it just got pulled from 350°F fryer oil. My wife’s chicken sandwich was completely cold too but once the server got that combative with me, my wife didn’t even bother trying to inform her of the same issue. I had the same empty glass sitting on the edge of my table for 45mins until I told someone to take it. When I got my beer (second drink) finally it was also the wrong size. When I say cold, think your wings delivery order was 3 hours late cold. Hardly above room temperature cold. I would’ve just been like eh whatever about the whole thing. It was the fact that she got combative and tried to gaslight me over my food sitting for at least 20 minutes to get that cold and saying she saw it pulled fresh with her own eyes. The Mac was very hot so maybe she saw that get pulled but my food was dead long before I got it. She easily could’ve brought the sandwiches and said the mac which we ordered as a side was taking longer and would be out a bit after. My wife was a sever for many years and agreed she was terrible at it on top of being rude. I waited an hour for food (was busy but honestly most 4+ tops already left when we got seated so it shouldn’t have been that long) so I didn’t want it re-fired because I was hungry and not optimistic I would get my food anytime soon. I let her take it after she kept insisting. Crazy the food was hot when it comes out within 15 mins of it sitting in the window………. We saw the hostess Erin (super polite and friendly) taking care of guests that were seated in her section far better than her, refilling their waters and such. What likely happened was she messed up our ticket and let our food sit until the whole ticket was completed or the kitchen straight up lied to her and messed it up. My guess is she messed the ticket up. Mac should be prepped already so you throw it in the serving dish and put your finishing cheese on top then under the broiler to serve, shouldn’t be more than 10-15 mins for the kitchen to get it out, easy. Either way she was rude and lied to my face thinking I’m an idiot and wouldn’t know she was blatantly lying. I’ll never return to this place, food is overpriced for what it is. Poorly executed curry’s pub menu ripoff with rude staff. They’re trying to be a place like district 37 but lack any talent to do such. If the owners grew a pair they’d clean house of their staff and start fresh. Let’s see how long before a new restaurant pops up in here since that’s all this location does. I hope the owner’s comment on this, they like to gaslight people in the reviews saying they’re reviewing the wrong restaurant or are lying. That explains why the service is so bad here if the owner can’t even take responsibility. What I saw from our service was systemic issues of the owners not actually working in the food industry prior to opening and not knowing how to manage the staff correctly. I’ve never written a review this long. That’s how messed up this place has me. Not even a Gordon Ramsey intervention show will save them. I figured eh whatever I’ll try them. When they opened 5 ish years ago my friends in the restaurant industry said hard no go but I figured I’d give them a shot years later for redemption. Nothing has changed it seems. I paid a bill NOT much less than much nicer restaurants within 2 or less miles. Only to get bland cold pub food vs higher end restaurant food like they charge. Seems more like money grab from the owners being in debt than anything else.
