ORIGINS
Founder Raquel Furtado’s fascination with food started early in life. A native of Pantanal in tropical Brazil, she familiarized herself with medicinal plants, herbs and super foods, many of which could be found in her backyard.
Years later, after moving to New York, Raquel faced an illness and was forced to rethink wellness and nutrition entirely. She was curious to explore the powers of nature’s precious elements, and began creating recipes with ingredients that reminded her of home.
Customers generally praised the food for being delicious and healthy, with standout items like açaí bowls and pão de queijo, though some noted inconsistencies in flavor and quality.
Service Experience
While many reviews highlighted friendly and accommodating staff, there were significant complaints about rude service and unwelcoming attitudes, particularly towards certain customers.
Pricing Concerns
Several customers felt that the prices were high relative to portion sizes and quality, with some expressing disappointment over the value for money.
Atmosphere
The café is described as cozy and inviting, making it a pleasant place for breakfast or a casual meal, although some noted limited seating.
Inconsistency
There were mixed experiences regarding food consistency, with some customers reporting excellent meals while others encountered issues like icy açaí bowls or incorrect orders.
