visited for the first time today because i saw their carbonara udon on Instagram and had to have it!! Nem's has a huge selection with a variety of Japanese and Scandinavian dishes, as well as gluten-free and vegan options.
the carbonara udon was delicious and filling, and i had an oat matcha latte with lavender cream that was also very good. we also tried the banoffee mochi waffle; the presentation was beautiful, but the waffle itself was a little tasteless which was disappointing.
overall i'd definitely go again to try more of the menu options, the food was good and the bistro atmosphere was very chill. i will say it is somewhat expensive for the amount of food you get; the banoffee waffle was $19 and the udon was around $18, so this is something to keep in mind.
very small space on the first floor. maybe there’s more seating on the upper floor. service was amazing but thought the food was a little overhyped. i enjoyed the tokyo carbonara but it was quite heavy. chicken katsu and salmon bowl was good for the price but nothing memorable.
The service here is horrible. The staff is completely clueless. Every time you come in, it’s the same thing. They wander around like headless chickens and have no idea what they’re doing. The only person who seems to understand anything is, I assume, the manager. Everyone else is just lost.
Every time I ask for something simple like tea or juice, they say they need to check if it’s available and then disappear. This last visit, the server said she would check if they had the tea I wanted. I’m pretty sure she went to check, but instead of returning to let me know, she just wandered off and never came back. Then I watched her go to the table next to me and ask if they were ready to order. That table wasn’t even ready, and I was sitting there clearly waiting. It made no sense.
So I asked her again whether the tea I requested was available. She said yes. I don’t understand why she didn’t tell me that earlier. I also told her I was ready to order food, and she acted like it was the first time she heard it. It was absurd.
Of course, you would not see the waitress again. She never checked on the table, not once, not even after the meal. When I finished eating, I sat there waiting for her to come by so I could ask for the bill. No one came. I had to flag someone down myself.
The food itself is okay, but the service needs serious improvement.
One more thing. When I first sat down, she handed me a piece of paper. She didn’t give me a complete menu set, and only when I asked where the rest of the menu and the drink menu was did she realize she had forgotten to give it to me. Just careless and unprofessional from start to finish.
Compact Japanese eatery turning out some authentic Japanese cuisine and some innovative dishes as well. We stopped in for a unplanned lunch and we had seen somebody post about the udon carbonara so we decided to try that. As expected, it was rich and delicious. We started with the agedashi tofu, which was expertly prepared, delicately fried in a tasty Japanese sauce with grated radish. The place is pretty tight indoors, but we found two spots at the narrow counter facing outside and it was fine. I would say the prices are a little bit on the high side, they may want to take a look at that. Otherwise… Recommended!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Perfect Start to Any Day!
Last Saturday I visited Nem's Japandi Bistro, and let me tell you — I was not prepared for how amazing their smoothie would be. I ordered “Let’s Start The Day”, and honestly, it didn’t just start my day… it upgraded my entire weekend!
From the very first sip, I felt like I was being personally blessed by the smoothie gods. The blend of banana, whey protein, peanut butter, maca, cacao nibs, and almond milk was so perfectly balanced that I’m convinced there must be some secret magic behind the counter. It’s rich, creamy, energizing, and somehow refreshing all at once — like drinking motivation through a straw.
The texture was silky, the flavors were spot-on, and the portion was generous enough to make me feel like I got premium value. If every morning started like this, I’d probably run a marathon before breakfast.
The atmosphere at Nem’s Japandi Bistro makes the experience even better — cozy outdoor seating, friendly vibes, and a calm neighborhood corner that’s perfect for enjoying a great drink while people-watching. The staff were warm, welcoming, and clearly put a lot of care into what they serve.
If you're anywhere near the area, do yourself a favor and stop by. And whatever you do, don’t leave without trying “Let’s Start The Day.” It might just become your new morning ritual.
Highly recommended — exceptional drink, lovely atmosphere, and absolutely worth every dollar. I’ll definitely be back!
