Worst management at this location, when I mean worst, I truly mean zero customer service. Don’t bother asking for the manager, they literally are the worst.

had a very disappointing and honestly disturbing experience at the Chipotle location at 190 West 231st Street in the Bronx. I felt it was important to share this because what I witnessed raised serious concerns about food safety, professionalism, and basic respect for customers.
From the moment I approached the serving line, it was clear that basic hygiene standards were not being followed. Several employees were handling food without gloves, which is already unacceptable for any food establishment. Even worse, one employee with long hair was not wearing a hat or hair net, and his hair was literally hanging down over the food while he was preparing orders. Watching someone prepare meals for customers while their hair is loose and potentially falling into the food is extremely unsanitary and should never be happening in a restaurant that serves the public.
When I brought up my concerns, I asked to speak with the manager, who identified himself as Jose. Unfortunately, instead of addressing the issue professionally or showing any concern for the health and safety standards of the restaurant, he was just as unprofessional as the rest of the staff. There was no sense of accountability, no attempt to correct the issue, and no real effort to reassure customers that the situation would be handled.
To make matters worse, as I was leaving the restaurant, several employees began speaking in Spanish assuming I would not understand them. I clearly heard them laughing and saying “lol these people think we care about how they feel.” Hearing staff openly mock customers for raising legitimate concerns about sanitation and service is completely unacceptable. It shows a level of disrespect and disregard for the community they are supposed to serve.
This was not just a minor inconvenience — this was a serious failure in customer service and food safety standards. Restaurants have a responsibility to maintain proper hygiene practices such as wearing gloves, wearing hair restraints, and treating customers with basic respect when concerns are raised. None of those expectations were met during my visit.
Because of how poorly this situation was handled, I have also submitted a formal complaint to Chipotle’s corporate headquarters. The conditions I witnessed and the behavior of the staff make it hard to trust that food at this location is being prepared safely. Management and corporate leadership should seriously investigate what is happening at this location and take appropriate action to ensure customers are treated properly and health standards are followed.
Until meaningful changes are made, I strongly believe the community should reconsider supporting this location. Businesses rely on the people in their neighborhoods, and in return they should show respect, professionalism, and care for the health of their customers.
Unfortunately, my experience at this Chipotle location was the complete opposite.

Horrible experience and will not be returning, they closed the entrance to the store due to an ongoing promotion and decided to reopen when the promotion period ended. They proceeded to tell us they are no longer doing the promotion after having us wait outside for over an hour. The courteous thing to do would be to inform people they were not going to honor the promotion instead of having us waste our time in the cold weather.
