Went to the rooftop on a Monday night and not a single table was occupied, so we expected a smooth experience. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case.
We ordered two soups and a meal. The first soup came out, and then we were told they didn’t have the second soup, so I ate mine while my partner just sat there waiting. The main meal arrived at least 45 minutes after the soup was finished, which is far too long, especially when the place was empty.
The shrimp was cold and extremely salty to the point it was inedible. My partner’s hamburger and fries were also cold. This isn’t our first bad experience there. We once tried to go for the Tuesday lobster bake, arrived right at 5:00 when it was supposed to start, and were told they had already run out.
They did remove the meal from the bill, which of course they should have. The excuse given was that the regular chef had cut his hand. Regardless of who was cooking, the food quality and timing were unacceptable.
The rooftop is fine for drinks, but we won’t be returning for food.
**Update** While I appreciate the owner for responding to the Google review and acknowledging my situation, I need to respond. When they called us over the weekend to confirm the reservation, we absolutely did let them it was to see the band, because we were so excited.
As I stated before, the review is not for the restaurant or the food. The manager was wonderful, he was immensely helpful and he even kindly offered to take my birthday flowers and placed them by the kitchen because they took up most of the table. (Yes, I had flowers and a balloon in them that read Happy Birthday, it was very apparent it was a special occasion.) He was great and professional, our waitress was also lovely.
However, my review was for the inappropriate behavior of the hostess. The fact still remains that the hostess was unprofessional, aggressive and argumentative when we brought our concerns to the front. In what world is it OK to tell a customer that they are prioritizing another customer because they are related to the band?! The rude hostess (a young blond woman with beach waves) also never mentioned our reservations didn’t include to be sat near the band. She never even checked on the computer or the sheet she used to check us in. She just kept repeating, they cannot accommodate every reservation. Meaning she was aware we had a reservation, but refused to accommodate it, look into it, or get a manager to help us. She argued with me the entire interaction, had I not found the manager I would not have been listened to. Also, there was another hostess (older woman, dark hair) who came over to listen to our interaction, she smirked while watching her colleague disrespect a customer and did not do anything to provide assistance.
The comfort level the hostesses had with arguing with me and dismissing my concerns leads me to believe this is a pattern and has happened with other customers. As owners and managers, perhaps you should look into the behavior of your hostesses, because with the familiarity she had in disrespecting me, I cannot be the first person she has spoken to like this. Im still in shock and needed to bring awareness and write a review. A day later I am still shaken, this was truly a horrible inexcusable interaction and I hope no other customer has to experience what I went through.
This review is not for the restaurant or the food, this review is for the hostesses, who were the rudest, most unprofessional hostesses I have ever encountered. Bourbon Street had a Fat Tuesday celebration February 17, 2026 which is also my birthday. I choose Bourbon street specifically for the live music band that was featured today. We made reservations to see the band, and Bourbon street called and confirmed our reservations. We even made our reservations at 5 when the band started because we wanted to make sure we didn’t miss anything.
When we got there, they sat us by the bar which was across the restaurant from the live music. I asked the hostess why we weren’t seated in front of the band, she “there wasn’t any space because the bands family members were sitting there.” I asked why they got preference over other customers, she said they were customers also. I said I made a reservation to be sat by the band. She kept cutting me off and rudely saying, “well we can’t accommodate everyone’s reservations.” Keep in mind, our reservations were at 5, the restaurant was not crowded at that time. And there was plenty of space to seat us. She just kept cutting us off by saying “well we can’t accommodate everyone’s reservations.”
I called over the manager and told him the situation. He promptly honored the reservation and moved us to the band area. He was wonderful and made sure we were comfortable. The food was great and the band was wonderful. However I’m so disappointed at how nasty we were treated by the hostess, sadly we won’t be returning l.
