The staff was friendly. I had the $61 Chart Your Course, which included my choice of a Ceasar Salad, 10 ounce Prime Rib/Mashed Potatoes, and a Mini Lava Cake.
Everything was delicious, and I left satisfied.

We recently dined at the Chart house and it was amazing. The view overlooking Lake Tahoe was spectacular (even better if you can catch it at sunset) and the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. I had the Seafood Linguini which contained a lot of scallops, mussels, clams and a lobster tail. It was delicious. The bread at the beginning of the meal was tasty as well. What I really would like to rave about was how welcoming the staff was. My baby started to cry towards the end of dinner so immediately I rushed toward the car as to not disrupt other guests. While I was waiting for my husband to pull up the car I was in the cold. One of the staff members pulled me inside and told me please not to worry and that I could wait inside. I just wanted to say thank you to that woman. Thank you for the kind words and for calming a new mom.

We started our night off on the bar side. When I asked what gluten-free options were available on the bar side menu I was told, " basically nothing on this menu is gluten free ". I was rather surprised by this. I asked if the muscles were gluten free, and she said they were, so I ordered those. Normally when we go out to eat and I ask what items are gluten free, I'm given a list or told what items are gluten free. I didn't anticipate that I would have to go down the menu asking which items were gluten free.
Once we sat down for dinner we ordered the sea bass and the prime rib. Our kids had the burger and chicken tenders. The sea bass was a little tough which I'm not used to. Normally sea bass is fork tender. The prime rib was tough, and everything was lacking flavor. My husband and I both added salt to our dishes. His prime rib was supposed to have an herb butter, but we couldn't taste anything. My sea bass was supposed to have a citrus butter, and it tasted plain. We came to celebrate my daughter's birthday. Nobody said happy birthday to her, and no desert was offered. We would have even paid for a dessert. A menu was never offered, and we got tired of the wait for everything. The staff did not seem happy. I'm not sure if they were understaffed or what. The atmosphere was nice, but I'd opt for better service and food elsewhere.

Place looks nice overall.
Service was very transactional, machine like.
Food was not good, steak was ordered medium well (little pink in the center) received it well done. Cesar salad didn’t taste freshly made.
Would not come back.

They left our party of 11 waiting for 7 min in their dark dingy front hallway past our 4:30pm reservation time when the restaurant was basically empty. A place like this knows that people are coming for the view of Tahoe as much as the food. So why was the table not ready in an empty restaurant when the reservation had been made a week in advance? And if they were trying to fill the water cups or print custom menus, why not seat us first instead of leaving us awkwardly standing in the dark? Or invite us to enjoy the view while ordering drinks from the bar if they are running late?
