I usually go through the drive-thru, but I decided to try the self-order kiosk because I thought it would be faster.
Let me just say… I aged a little in there.
By the time I finished battling that screen, the entire drive-thru line I saw when I walked in had already come and gone. I’m pretty sure some of them went home, ate, and took a nap before I hit ‘place order.’
The kiosk lagged like it was buffering on dial-up, and the layout had me questioning my life choices. I was tapping the screen like, ‘hello??’ like it owed me money. I ended up needing help just to place a simple order
and I wasn’t even the only one. There were other people standing there confused too, needing help just to get through it. It felt like we were all in the same group project and nobody knew what we were doing.
I love the idea of the kiosks, but right now it’s less ‘fast food’ and more ‘escape room: fast food edition.’
Next time, I’m staying in my lane. Literally. Drive-thru for life.
I always pick up orders from this McDonald's, and while the staff are generally nice, there is one exception. There is a younger female employee, brown skin, short, heavyset, and who wears glasses. Every time I come in to pick up an order, she shows me an attitude. SHE IS ALWAYS RUDE TO ME. I don't know why.
For instance, just last week, when I asked about my order, she told me she was working on it. I thanked her, but when my order was ready, she put it to the side and refused to hand it to me, even though she knew I was waiting and the food was getting cold. When I called out to her, "Excuse me, can I please get my food since it's ready?" she ignored me and pretended not to hear.
Again, last night (Sunday, January 25, 2026), around 7:30 PM, I walked in to pick up another order. She completed the order and set the bag aside, but wouldn't give it to me. I called her three times, "Excuse me, can I get my order?" but she completely ignored me. Eventually, her manager heard my requests and told her to respond. At that point, she became very angry, threw away the empty bag she was holding, grabbed my order, and nearly threw it at me.
There are cameras in the store that can verify this behavior. She was incredibly rude, unprofessional, and angry for no apparent reason. I still wonder what I did wrong by simply asking her to hand me my order, which was already ready and just sitting there getting cold while I stood in the lobby waiting. What's the point of preparing an order if you're going to keep/put it aside and NOT give it to the person who's waiting for it right in front of you?
This situation is not acceptable, and I hope her manager sees this.
Update: I believe her manager saw the review. Now, they moved her to the McDonald's on 6595 N Decatur Blvd. I was in there a few days ago and saw her. I hope they talk her, hopefully she will cut the bad attitude, be professional and stop being angry at people for NO reason.
