I’m writing this for entertainment purposes, but I just had the worst chipotle experience ever. After 100k+ calories consumed this might be the one. Some background: I get hangry. And I came right after the gym, so a portion of this is me for sure. But it all starts when I approached what can only be described as a fishbowl of Gen Z’ers with the work ethic of a sack of potatoes. I’m ordering my bowl. This girl is dishing out portions equivalent to her living in the Great Depression. Im aware that we get charged more for less these days, but this was the worst I’ve encountered. By the time she was done I could probably count the cheese strands at a whopping 12. I wait until she scoops the minuscule chicken, but to make sure she put enough she goes in for literally 3 more pieces. I then ask for double. She warns me it’ll be more. I say yes. Then I continue watching this girl that survives off 3 jellybeans a day (and apparently zero empathy) dish out portions to a human literally 3 times her size. She warns me guacamole is extra. I say yes. I’m getting irritated at this point. Now we get to the main event…. I get to the cashier. She is training someone. I’m empathetic to this and I’d say my issue here was with the trainer not the trainee. I ask to a large chips and salsa. Hot. They then are ringing me up and ask me if I wanted a large salsa. I say “whatever size normally comes with the large chips and salsa.” My salsa arrives. I ask if that’s going to be more because they’re usually not that large. They look at me confused and say yes. So I say “well I didn’t order that. I just wanted a large chips and salsa. I didn’t need the larger salsa.” They remove it. They tell me my total. I pull out cash. Then confusion of course. Nobody ever uses this ancient technology. I give them the cash then say “give me a second. I need to scan this” they count the money as I’m pulling up the app for points. They finalize the transaction, and I say “didn’t I need to scan this first?” They look perplexed and then the trainer says that I can use the receipt for points too. I say, “I’ve never done that before. I didn’t think you could do that.” I get the receipt. There’s zero information on it about points. “So how do I use this for points?” Blank vacant expressions. Like I’m pretty sure this girl just flat out lied to me to make me go away and now is confused with her first encounter with accountability. I frustratedly (now it’s becoming a scene) grab the receipt and just say “Great job guys. You’re really knocking it out of the park.” I have since learned how to redeem the points after the fact…but shouldn’t your employee know the process if they’re telling people they can do it? And just wow on the portions. I’ve had just enough and too much, but never at chipotle have I encountered too little. All in all it wasn’t the best $23 I’ve spent on a meal and I’ll avoid this location for a while.

They use good ingredients and their preparation is pretty good. The atmosphere is like the Army barracks at Bagram in Afghanistan in the 2000's - plywood walls and concrete floors with a very sparse look right down to the mildly uncomfortable chairs. I'd suggest take out for this chain
