On the afternoon of Sunday, November 2, 2025, my party and I placed an order at the Sonic Drive-In in Carson City, NV.
The Incident
* Incorrect Order: When we arrived at our destination in Washoe Valley, we discovered that the food given to us was not our order but someone else's.
* Initial Call & Proposed Resolution: I immediately called the store. The employee I spoke with offered a vague apology and said, "uh, yeah, I'm sorry, if you want you can come back and get yours." I explained that we were already halfway to Reno. He then offered, "Well, I will give you credit then. When you come back, just give me your name and we will fix it."
The Problematic Follow-Up
* Refusal of Service: Approximately an hour and a half later, we drove back to the Carson City Sonic, provided the employee with my name, and were then refused the promised credit/replacement order.
* False Accusations: The employee stated that "you can't come back the same day" and falsely claimed that we had "already ate the food" and that the incorrect order we received was "way more food."
Conclusion
This entire experience was unacceptable. To be given the wrong order, promised a simple solution, and then have that promise revoked with false accusations is extremely poor customer service.
* We did not eat the incorrect order; we simply wanted the food we originally paid for.
* The employee should not have promised a credit if it was not store policy to honor it the same day.
We left the premises highly dissatisfied and will not be returning. After seeing other negative customer reviews, this incident is clearly indicative of larger service issues at this location.
