We are a Family-Owned Ice Cream Shop and Snack Bar! We specialize in Homemade ice cream, popsicles, and Mexican-inspired treats! Find any sweet or savory snack you could imagine including Mexican street food classics like Elotes or fresh sweets like Crepes and so many more!! Not to mention our handmade Authentic Mexican Food!!! Where does the name Axohelado come from? We used the "Axolotl" and "Helado" ( e-la doh, Spanish for ice-cream) as an inspiration to name this place. Get it? Axo-Helado What is an axolotl? As legend has it, the axolotl is the Aztec god of fire and lightning, Xolotl, who disguised himself as a salamander to avoid being sacrificed. Today Axolotls are only native to the Lake Xochimilco located in Mexico City.
