  We always have prompt, courteous service. Our waitress, Karen, was so friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. She checked in with us several times to make sure everything was ok and even gave us her recommendation for a dessert when we asked her.

  Group of 6 of us popped in for a bite at the Kempt road location in Halifax. I had the Chicken Parmesan, it was absolutely delicious, the chicken was tender and the breading was crispy and light, the sauce on the spaghetti was amazing, good portion size. Most satisfying meal I've had at a restaurant in a very long time. All the other diners enjoyed their meals as well. Ally, our server, was absolutely amazing, very attentive and accommodating, funny too! Left with a very pleasant satisfied feeling that lasted all afternoon. Highly recommended!

  Honestly, I was shocked by our recent experience at the Swiss Chalet on Kempt Road. When I was younger I remember going to a different Swiss Chalet in the community I grew up in just outside of Halifax, and it was okay but certainly nothing to write home about from what I can remember… today when we arrived it was clear the franchise had a total face lift, from the restaurant ambience to the menu loaded with different options I was pleasantly surprised. We have 2 little kids aged 1 and 3, and they’re typically uninterested in food and it takes a lot of attention from us to feed them to the point where most of the meal is us scarfing down our orders in between feeding them… it often can feel like a chore to keep them entertained/feed them without disturbing other patrons with the current stage they’re at. Today however, they were totally food motivated to feed themselves without our constant reminders somehow lol with the kids menu options we ordered from our super attentive server, Tracy (we will certainly be sitting in your section when we are back in the near future), she recommended ordering the kids Mac and cheese and the pulled pork sandwich for the kids (came with side of veg and mashed potatoes which the kids also somehow enjoyed) and they split everything so that had lots of variety and for a really great price. The kids were actually doing little dances in their chairs between bites to show their approval of the meal and my wife and I were able to take our time with our own meals and talk to each other more. It was an unusually smooth experience compared to many of our other Halifax restaurant outings over the last 5/10 years. I don’t usually leave reviews but Tracy was superb, she had the food out for the kids before ours, very quick and ensured we had everything we needed but wasn’t hovering either. She brought stickers over for the kids and informed them that they could take a toy from the treasure box at the entrance on our way out (the pretend ice cream cone toys that pop out have been a hit the last hour). As I reflect on me writing this review I actually find it kind of funny because we are often checking out “nicer”/upscale restaurants and though I am content I certainly never felt as though I’d be back to that particular restaurant anytime soon, but with Tracy’s service today, the volume of pretty good food, and 2 content and well-fed kiddos I have to say I definitely will be back soon. If you have kids certainly check this spot out and if you’re lucky you might have Tracy serving you as well. Lastly we learned today that apparently on Wednesdays kids eat free with the purchase of an entree - this is hard to believe as I felt the prices were already great. Anyways I digress… but thanks again Tracy and we hope to see you soon!
