When a new DQ opened up downtown, just buildings away from the iconic original location, I was ecstatic. A spiritual successor. Peace is being restored. I'm so excited.
And you know what? My chicken tender basket was great. Super hot, crispy, and fresh.
It's just that inside, this might be the worst dq, or fast food, I've ever been in. Small, no seating, funky smell, brutal music, very cold and harsh. I think 30 Uber eats guys came and went in the duration I was there, so I guess it's just not for eating in, which is sad.
The customer service was also pretty sad. It's kind of like the opposite of walking into a friendly local coffee shop. Very rude, 0 communication, it was quite strange. I was chuckling when there was a sign right beside the counter saying "at dq, we promise to: be kind, strive to do our best, smile and greet you, etc". I don't know why you'd make a point of promoting that and then hire people who actively don't do anything. Maybe I'm just a boomer.
Can't wait to come back (to get takeout of course).
