  Our party of 5 planned to dine here, however when half of our party entered we were told it would be a 45 mins wait. The other half of the party wasn’t communicating with us and called the restaurant and were told a 20 min wait. Then we all got there and I asked the hostess and explained how we were told 20 mins on the phone and she abruptly said “no it was me on the phone and I said 45”. I explained we had talked to a young gentleman on the phone and it was not her and she said “no it’s going to be 45”. I then said never mind and as we went to leave she shrugged and rolled her eyes and said “I don’t know what you want me to do”. Understandable if the restaurant is busy but still not an excuse to be rude and dismissive. We will not be returning as another time our party of 4 was put at a 2 person table and we had minimal to space to enjoy our food. Along with that, a member of our party ordered a non alcoholic beer and was brought an alcoholic beer. We will not be returning to this location

  I used to love East Side Mario’s years ago but the portions and quality has gone down hill significantly. 12 layer lasagna (pictured) did not have 12 layers, was a very small portion for the price, and was mediocre flavour. Chicken parm, my former go-to, is now a very thin overcooked piece of breaded chicken. For the price, portion, and quality, there are way better options in the Halifax area. Don’t waste your money.

  East side mario’s is a classic that I always enjoy. Their double bacon carbonara and scallop carbonara are to die for. The potato bacon soup is always a great appetizer too. Fresh bread when you get there is an instant plus, warm and delicious! Me and my boyfriend went for valentines this year and did the 2 can dine for 49.99 and the meal was beyond worth it. Appetizer, sides, main, and dessert. We added the thunder mugs ourselves to really top off the experience.

  I think all the waiters and waitresses know me by now. We come on a weekly basis. This visit we had Caryn serving us. We sat at a table and then she came over saying she was going to move us to a booth , which we said oh.. we didn't need to move... but I think there was a large group coming so she seated us in the middle row of booths. I prefer a booth but it was busy. About 15 minute wait time. We don't mind. Loved that she took the time to bring us our food. We had the budda boomers. Omg they are so good. But i need more dipping sauce! The chicken tetrazini and cheese capaletti were our mains. I needed more sauce for my capaletti. Our meals were not hot by any means which was strange.. they usually are. But I think the cooks need to slow down so people can enjoy eating the starter, the salad, whatever it may be. I don't like that sometimes we don't even get to enjoy our salad and the main comes right out.i think maybe our dish was sitting for a few minutes before it was bright to the table. I think the cooks need to slow down and if people are having a starter. They need to wait to bring out mains. It feels too rushed when all the food is on the table. I love that when I ask for something they always say no problem. Definitely the nicest bunch of people working there.

  Tori at East Mario's is the real deal. As a business owner, I've learned to recognize exceptional service — and Tori delivered exactly that. From the moment we sat down, she was attentive, warm, and genuinely engaged. Not just going through the motions, but actually making the experience better. What makes this review mean even more: my mother was a waitress for 50 years. I grew up watching what real hospitality looks like, the hard work, the hustle, the grace under pressure. Tori has all of it. She's the kind of server that makes you want to come back — not just for the food, but for the experience she creates. East Mario's is lucky to have her. Tori, you made our visit truly memorable. Thank you.
