All I can say is, where have you been all my life? Our food was delicious, the service was great, and the atmosphere was lovely - intimate enough for date night, with jazz music in the background, but also friendly enough to make friends with the tables around you (which we did). Antonio and his wife were very present in the restaurant, and visited our table frequently to check in on us. I mentioned that I had been looking all over Taos for sopapillas because we can't find them in our part of the world. He said that as far as he knew, Antonio's is the only restaurant serving them at night. They were absolutely perfect - very large, with light crispy exterior and pillowy soft inside. Along with the requisite soft butter and honey, they were perfection and I already wish I could have them again. In fact, Antonio's was so good the first night that we went back again the next night and ordered the exact same things. Be aware that their hours are non-traditional as they are closed Friday-Saturday. They also have a policy for children to ensure a safe and relaxing evening for everyone. If your little ones are active, you may want to consider eating at one of the comfortable outside areas. We have visited Taos many times, and seem to struggle to find great restaurants. Either they are more fussy than we prefer, or we find a favorite only for it to be gone the next time we're in town. Crossing our fingers that Antonio's is here to stay!
