Here is a shortened version that keeps the strength, professionalism, and legal weight while fitting a Google review format: I had a deeply concerning experience at Market Street in Santa Fe involving an employee named Peg, who identified herself as working in Human Resources. I was standing quietly at the customer service desk with my trained diabetic alert service dog. My dog was leashed, silent, and impeccably behaved — another employee even commented that they couldn’t tell he was there. Despite this, Peg approached me and began questioning me about my service animal. I calmly and correctly answered what task my dog performs, which is all that is required under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Instead of accepting my lawful response, she continued to press further and claimed I had “answered it the wrong way,” asserting her authority and escalating what should have been a simple verification. Under federal law, staff may ask only two specific questions regarding a service animal. I complied fully. Continued interrogation beyond that point is not appropriate and raises serious ADA compliance concerns. What makes this more troubling is the apparent inconsistency. I have seen other dogs in this store — some disruptive and without visible identification — never questioned. Yet my silent, highly trained medical alert dog was singled out. As a young Hispanic man in a store where there are very few Hispanic patrons or employees, it is difficult not to question whether implicit bias influenced this interaction. Service animals are medical equipment, not pets. Being challenged after fully complying with the law was unnecessary, humiliating, and unacceptable. Market Street should revisit its ADA training and ensure employees — especially those in HR — understand both the limits of permissible questioning and the importance of respectful treatment of customers exercising federally protected rights. If you want it even sharper and slightly more pointed while still professional, I can tighten it one more round.

This store is beautiful! I love the smell and how its set up. There's friendly employees, offering help. The selection of dry Goods is amazing, so many new things. The floors were noticeably clean and shiny. Perfect place for that last minute gift shopping too. The fresh food cooking is a plus, I couldn't leave without a quick sushi to go. The bakery was mesmerizing, I love how they displayed many delicious treats. They patiently waited till I chose the perfect fruit tart. This is my favorite stop for quick grab and go hot meals.

Do not come after 9p. I repeat do not come after 9p. There is one cashier and no self checkout. A quick stop will turn into a hellish wait in the longest line of your life.

The store is well-stocked and very clean; however, the pharmacy customer service is not great. I've gone in there three times for prescriptions. The first time, the customer service was fantastic, and they got me taken care of. There was an issue with the VA, and so they told me exactly what information they needed. I called and got the info, got my medication, and was on my way. The last two times were horrible. I even brought the information with me, and I was treated with disdain, like an annoyance. I refuse to go back there, even for regular shopping.

I purchased a prescription and a refill in November and December from Market Street for $42. Attempting to refill it in January I was told the price had jumped to $185, a 340% price increase in one month and far exceeding the technical definition of hyperinflation. When I laughed and told them no they offered to lower it to $96. I walked away, then asked my direct primary care doctor what she could sell it to for me: $19, meaning Market Street was 874% higher. Not wanting to wait a week I contacted CVS, a Market Street competitor literally in the same parking lot: $27, putting Market Street 585% higher. I guess the private equity managers and Albertson’s executive team woke up and realized they didn’t have any little old ladies to mug on the street that day so they decided to tweak their pricing algorithm to instead mug their customers in pain. It’s a capitalist system so Market Street can charge what they want, but capitalism is a two way street and I can choose to shop anywhere I wish. So you have not only lost the business from that prescription, you’ve also lost also future prescription and food purchases from me. It’s not like there aren’t a myriad of alternatives in Santa Fe for both. Why is the US Health care system gutted and hollowed out? Market Street’s pricing policies are Exhibit A in answer. Quite sickening.
