Great taste of India in the midst of all the Southwestern options in town. The Sunday buffet was fully replenished and very inviting, even an hour before closing, and it really hit the spot for me. The standouts were the “Ma ki Daal,” “Saag,” and “Rasmalai,” all of which were delicious.
The only thing that missed the mark a bit was the pulao rice with peas, which could have been a touch more tender. Overall, though, it was a very satisfying meal and I would happily come back.

The food was very expensive. We requested to be seated on the sofa section, which was completely empty, but the waiter refused and said, “You don’t have a reservation, so how can I assign this to you?” with a quirky smile, which felt unnecessary and rude.
I also asked for a bowl to serve curry, but one of the waiters told me to take it in a plate instead. It’s quite impractical to eat curry with roti from a flat plate.
Overall, the staff behavior was disappointing. Given the high prices, I expected much better service. This experience was not satisfactory.

We were visiting Santa Fe with my parents. We had had a hectic day and wanted a hearty Indian meal.
I called ahead to inquire, the owner told me that for dine in there’s only buffet option available till 9:30 pm. The buffet was at $27.99 per pax. This is much higher than SF Bay Area buffet rates too btw.
We promptly reached by 8:30 and helped ourselves to the buffet.
My parents and I are non fussy eaters and always show humility to the staff.
To my surprise, before the clock even hit 9 pm, the staff came around some 5 times at our table to take the last of whatever we wanted from the buffet as they were closing. We didn’t argue even though their website and board outside clearly stated the buffet time as 5-9:30 pm.
My father, a senior now, loves mughlai food and has been having it his entire life. He pointed out to us that the Tandoori chicken dry was too cold to eat.
He said the same to the waiter who replied in nonchalantly that it’s coz the buffet starts at 5pm.
My dad then notified the same to the owner, a surd gentleman from Jalandhar. His response completely shocked us to be honest.
Said “itni bhi thandi nahi thi chicken.” Translation “the chicken isn’t all too cold.” Further adding “there are two burners under the serving trays. And I can’t do anything about the chicken being cold as that’s the burner’s job.”
To be honest, we love to tip generously especially during the festive season but I didn’t want to, neither did Dad, even one bit.
At least take the damn feedback, a customer already chose your place and is paying top dollar for mediocre food; we still tipped 18%. I later on realized that the waiting staff barely even served us as it was a buffet.
We try a lot of Indian places wherever we go, mainly in the SF Bay Area and LA, and I can speak from experience that hosts and waiting staff is a lot more courteous there compared to India House’s owner.
We were excited about the meal as we were super hungry and genuinely feel that one gets that feeling of satisfaction only by eating one’s own food. But this experience rendered us bitter and we definitely do not recommend the dine in experience, especially since the waiting staff keeps circling around our head, and starts shutting everything in front of us to add more pressure. I mean come on! Why say 9:30 if you want to wrap up before customers are even done eating? And on top of that so much argument instead of politely accepting feedback. Dad even stated that since we’re from India we don’t like cold meals; he was like “okay whatever!” Huh! I guess these folks just take advantage of the fact that there are limited Indian food options in the city.

We had an extremely unpleasant experience at this restaurant. We waited almost 1 hour just to be seated, and after placing our order, it took another 45 minutes for the food to arrive.
The staff was rude and unhelpful, which only made the long wait more frustrating. Unfortunately, the worst part was that both my wife and my child became sick after eating the food, which is completely unacceptable and very concerning.
Between the poor service, excessive wait times, and serious food safety concerns, this was one of the worst dining experiences we’ve had. We will not be returning and would strongly caution others before dining here.

We visited this restaurant during our vacation and unfortunately had a very unpleasant experience related to billing and staff behavior.
After finishing our dinner, there was a significant rush at the restaurant. When we approached the counter to pay, we had our card in hand, but the staff member at the counter appeared busy and confused due to the crowd. He informed us that our bill had already been paid, so we left based on his confirmation.
However, approximately 24 hours later, we received a message accusing us of not paying the bill, which was completely incorrect. When we spoke to the same individual on the phone the following day, his behavior was rude and accusatory. He did not acknowledge his mistake or offer any apology for the confusion caused. Instead, he was dismissive and abruptly hung up the call without properly concluding the conversation.
To clarify, we had every intention of paying our bill and did not attempt to leave without payment. This can also be verified through the camera recordings, which will show us standing at the counter with our card in hand. Also, we paid the bill including the gratuity the next day after he confirmed on the mode of payment.
We would like to emphasize that the food and the serving staff were decent, and our issue is solely with the conduct of the person at the counter, whose behavior significantly impacted our experience.
We hope you will review this matter seriously and take appropriate action to ensure better customer handling in the future.
