  We had lunch with the dogs on the patio. No water dishes but we carry our own. We both had chicken flautas & they were very good! We will be back! Too bad there weren't margaritas!

  Excellent choice if you're vegetarian or vegan. There is a vegan menu, and vegetarian options. The service is great. The restaurant is very quaint and well decorated.

  The mole here is delicious and has a beautiful depth of flavor. They also have excellent Chile Rellenos. The red chile and poblano sauces were tasty and had a great balance to them. The guacamole was so creamy and had a hint of cumin in it which was perfect, possibly the best guac I have had in any restaurant. Whoever is preparing the food is doing a wonderful job and has a superb understanding of seasoning.

  Habanero Restaurant in Las Cruces is a local institution, proudly serving the community for 21 years, including over a decade at its current location. The owner welcomed me and added a complimentary starter of their good bean and fideo soup. I highly recommend the beef taco combo, which comes with three generously stuffed tacos, along with rice and refried beans topped with crisp cheese. The side dishes are stellar; the light and fluffy spanish rice was excellent, and the refried beans, topped with a good, crisp cheese, were delicious. The tacos themselves were exceptional. The taco shell was clearly homemade and fried to a crisp perfection. Inside, the filling of shredded beef, lettuce, and white cheese was excellent and very filling, thanks to the generous portion size. Habanero provides a truly satisfying and authentic dining experience.
