It’s labeled as a Texas BBQ joint but if you order pulled pork for some reason it comes drowned in a mustard sauce. It’s not that great and at $19.98/pound it’s not worth getting. If they left it simple, as in no sauce, it would be better. Basically I would prefer to make the choice myself.
Brisket comes as a choice dry or wet with wet coming in at a $5 premium per pound at $16. I typically prefer bbq pork over beef but their wet brisket is the better option as opposed to the dry brisket or pulled pork. Seasoning is good, but wet isn’t incredibly moist, but ABQ is a dry environment so maybe that explains some dryness.
Venue is laidback and “country” themed, reminds me of a rural county fair. It’s not a bad thing, it’s actually my favorite part of the restaurant, but I wouldn’t come here for nostalgia.
Customer service at the counter was good. My cashier was friendly and answered questions. I had my brisket chopped for tacos and they took care of me w/o fuss or hassle.
Overall, it’s OK. I wouldn’t come again on my own accord but if a group of friends or family want to go. I could find something to eat and be fine.
This Rudy's needs to work on their consistency. For the last thee visits: visit 1 - moist brisket was 40% fat; visit 2 - meat was very good and nice smoky flavor; visit 3 - lean brisket had just the right amount of fat, but way too much salt and pepper which made f the flavor

I wouldn’t suggest this location. Service and food are inconsistent. They’ve give me the wrong meat twice now and today half my bowl of “meat” was fat. The price is not worth the gamble.
Perfect! Surprise! It’s Albuquerque not Texas
I was told that this place is so good a guys boss was driving back from Florida to WA state and detoured just to eat here again.
I would have to agree - sooo good!
The brisket and pulled pork were so perfectly seasoned that they didn’t need any sauce - and the sissy sauce was good
But the creamed corn might be worth the detour all on its own 😋❤️
Great BBQ! Service is horrible. I ordered a sandwich for lunch, just a sandwich. Guy made the sandwich and smashed it before putting it my bag. Like squeezed it in his hand, after it was wrapped in paper of course. That’s ok brother it was still a great sandwich!
Anytime I stop by for breakfast every staff member with the exception of management is mad. Everytime. They ask for your name when you order custom breakfast tacos so that when they are ready they can call you name…. I’ve had them just put them on the counter and not say a word, because they are mad and hate their job. This is something I’ve noticed over the past couple of years. I’ve been going to Rudy’s for decades and in the past it wasn’t like that.
I’ll still eat there though it’s that good. Service sucks.
And Rudy’s staff shouldn’t be asking for tips working at a meat market bro.
