The only reason that I am giving this 1 star overall is so hopefully the people who run the Pappadauex in Albuquerque will pay attention to my comments. Food and service were great! However, it was so freaking cold in the restaurant that some of our party were wearing winter clothing inside on a day in April when it was normal 60-70 temps outside. It must have been 65-68 in the restaurant. You are uncomfortable and your food gets cold much faster than if it were 72 room temperature.

I did several hours of research, on steaks, I was in El Paso and got the best steak in 30 years, I understand that the ribeye here was supposed to be outstanding, so I ordered it, I think it was $54, or thereabouts plus the appetizer of 17, plus the dessert, very expensive, exclamation the ribeye was a disaster. It was delivered not as ordered, with the wrong vegetables, it was tough, not repeatable! However, generally speaking, I like Papa duex. So I've been going there for in excess of 25 years, the hostess was amazing, I like the table by the window, she accommodated me, I got a chance to refocus my brain, and as such, even though the food was a disaster, the experience was still an emotionally wonderful experience, thank you guys, you're deeply appreciated

I really wanted to give Pappadeaux the benefit of the doubt, but after last night, it’s clear that guest satisfaction just isn't a priority here. We actually came in for a "make-right" visit. A month ago, we had a nearly identical experience with glacial service, which resulted in a manager giving us a $100 gift card and asking us to give them a second chance. We decided to use that card last night, hoping the first time was just a fluke. It wasn’t. The Experience Things started off fine. We sat at the bar and were greeted promptly. Our drinks arrived quickly, and we placed our appetizer and entree orders at the same time, specifically requesting the appetizer come out first. The First Red Flag: When the appetizers arrived, we weren't given silverware or napkins. We had to track someone down just to eat the food in front of us. The Main Issue: After we finished our appetizers, we sat... and sat. It took over an hour for our entrees to arrive. No Excuses What makes this sting is that the restaurant wasn't even busy. The bar was virtually dead, and there were plenty of staff members standing behind the counter. To wait over an hour for food in a near-empty restaurant—especially after being told they wanted to "earn our business back"—is inexcusable. Final Verdict It’s expensive to eat here. When you spend your hard-earned money at a premium establishment, you expect excellent customer service. You can recover from one bad experience, but when the second visit is a carbon copy of the first, it feels like the customer simply doesn't matter. Being treated in such a rude, disregarding manner twice in a row is the final straw. We won't be back. Bottom Line: If you value your time and your money, go somewhere else where they actually appreciate your patronage.

I want to tell Google and the Internet what a great time I had at Pappadeaux restaurant (Albuquerque) on 3/28/2026. My friend and I went there at 6:30 to celebrate her birthday. We made reservations and got a booth adjacent to the bar. Derrick was our server and he was fantastic the whole time! We were kind of slow to read the menu, but he kept checking back with us and was never bothered by any of it. And, as the evening got busier, he apologized for any perceived delay on his part. He was a sweet guy and took care of it all night long. We stayed there until almost time to stack chairs and mop the floors. It was such a good meal, I had the grouper and my friend had the trout and both were excellent as we sampled each other‘s dishes. The atmosphere was wonderful. My margarita was excellent. It was a really fantastic evening. I wouldn’t hesitate for a second, to offer Pappadeaux as a recommendation the next time I, or any of my friends, needs a suggestion for a nice meal or celebration. I’m hoping the manager reads this and passes our thanks along to Derrick.

This is my 2nd time here within 6 years. Can't remember what I ordered last time but I do remember it tasting amazings. this time wasn’t any different. Everything tasted great. The food was served at a good temperature. The drinks and our waiter. The front desk gal was a bit overwhelmed and booked us to the wait list (it wasn't busy. Just bad scheduling or staffing) She never asked if I wanted outdoor or indoor seating. And when my ticket was called she attempted to toss me out. I told her no. I would like an indoor seat. As I was not asked or given the option. She corrected with minor resistance and we sat indoors. I got rednapper (I got it because people talk it up as being one of the tastiest fish and so I tried it) it was soft and flavorful. I couldn’t eat it with the lemon. I was provided as my son took it and ate it. It was an orange lol but based off of the flavor of the fish and the mix of the broccolini, it was a very good dish there are crocodile bites have changed. They used to just be breaded and served with the sauce but now they are hand tossed breaded in a hot honey glaze. The hot honey sauce is extremely tasty, but after two or three bites, the spice does kick in. Not unbearable. but your nose will start to leak and you will start licking your lips more than you want. my wife got the chicken Alfredo with Parmesan sauce. my daughter got the fried catfish with fries my son got the butter noodles two piña colada‘s and a sweet tea was for our drink. overall, a very good experience just like it was three years ago. I highly recommend this place is always busy, which is why I was shocked that they didn’t have enough workers but closer to 6 PM. The staff increased in numbers and you got to see a fluid system.
