First visit — 3/5 stars I visited Pappadeaux around 2:00 PM on a calm Thursday afternoon and sat at the bar. It was fairly quiet with only a handful of customers, and there were two bartenders working. The food was good and consistent with what I would expect from Pappadeaux. However, the service experience felt somewhat disconnected. For most of the visit there was very little engagement from the bartenders beyond basic pleasantries. I didn’t feel particularly welcomed or attended to, and there wasn’t much effort to check in or interact. When you spend around $130 for a meal, you expect not only good food but also a more engaging service experience—especially when sitting at the bar, where interaction is typically part of the atmosphere. What stood out to me was that several members of the wait staff and bartenders seemed more focused on talking among themselves rather than engaging with customers. I also observed management walking the floor in a similar fashion. In many workplaces there’s an old saying: “see one, do one, teach one,” and it gave the impression that this behavior may simply be part of the culture. That said, there was one bright moment. A young female staff member, likely in her 20s, who was not even assigned to the bar, noticed my service animal and kindly offered water for the dog and brought fresh water for me as well. I thanked her for the gesture. That simple act of attentiveness stood out and demonstrated the kind of hospitality that was otherwise missing during the visit. Overall, the experience met expectations but did not go above and beyond in a way that would justify a higher rating. For a restaurant at this price point, a bit more engagement and attentiveness would make a noticeable difference. This review is intended for fellow patrons only. I am sharing my experience as a customer and am not seeking responses from ownership or management here. Any defensive responses from ownership or management would only further degrade the overall impression of the experience.

We’ve been to this place a few times. The food used to be better during our past visits. But we don’t have a better choice for seafood than theirs in ABQ. That’s the only reason we’ll go back. Our server was really nice n friendly. The hostess wasn’t smiling n I don’t feel welcome instantly lol, but I understand her, she’s probably already overwhelmed by the fact that we don’t have reservation on Friday night at 5PM

Service is absolutely amazing! My sisters and I are traveling to Las Vegas from Atlanta, and are staying overnight. Initially we went to eat at Cheddars, which is down the street. But after being seated for 10 minutes and our waitress/waiter never even coming to the table to even greet us. We left there and came to Pappadeaux. Greg was our waiter and he was absolutely amazing! Friendly, kind, funny, very personable!. He was knowledgeable on the dishes as well! The food was great! We left him a great tip because he deserved it. If you’re ever in town and visit this location ask for Greg!!! It was divine intervention that it didn’t work out at Cheddars.

Spent Mardi Gras lunch, and everything was perfect! Had my go-to blackened half chicken (on the menu its grilled half, but I always request blackened) and as always, regardless of where in the country I've had it, it was amazing. Subbed dirty rice which was really good, and the garlic bread which had great flavor and a touch of spice! Other things I've had are the Gator (I ask for it blackened), the blackened redfish, andouillie and seafood gumbo, and the BBQ shrimp, and all have been amazing! Can't recommend this place enough!

Wow, where do I start my Wife, son and I drove all the way from Santa Fe because we were visiting from Colorado due to a business trip with my colleagues and seen that this establishment looked very tasty. We called before coming and asked if it was busy or booked the person stated no. Upon arrival it did not look busy what so ever empty tables EVERYWHERE . She then proceeded with there is a wait. We asked how long the wait was she took about 3 min to respond after she kept looking up and down at us. If you’re staring at a tablet with a seating chart it shouldn’t take that long. Felt very judged the situation was very unacceptable luckily there are multiple restaurants around the area that we were able to enjoy dinner at. I will definitely be telling my entire team about this situation. Sad thing was we had planned to come on Wednesday, thank goodness I came before bringing more business to this rude establishment.
