Formal Complaint Regarding Staff Conduct
I am writing to report a deeply concerning experience my family and I had at your UNM location. The behavior we encountered from both an employee named Victor and the on‑duty manager was unprofessional, disrespectful, and unacceptable for any establishment—especially one serving a university community.
During our visit, Victor displayed a dismissive attitude when we asked a simple question about what was included in a meal. His response and demeanor were unnecessarily rude. When we proceeded to pay, he attempted to take my mother’s credit card through the drive‑thru window rather than allowing her to insert it herself, which is the standard practice for all other customers. He took her card, closed the window, charged it out of sight, and only returned it after completing the transaction and printing the receipt. When we expressed that his behavior felt inappropriate, he responded by saying, “It’s too early for this shit.” This level of unprofessionalism is alarming.
We then attempted to speak with the manager, who was not wearing a uniform or a name tag—only a light blue turtleneck—making it impossible to identify her as management. When my mother requested orange juice, the manager mocked her in Spanish while retrieving it. We are fluent in Spanish, so the disrespect was unmistakable.
We have video documentation of this incident and will be forwarding it to headquarters. It is extremely frustrating to see this level of misconduct from staff representing a business located at the front of UNM. Based on the number of recent low reviews, it is clear that this is not an isolated incident.
We expect this matter to be taken seriously and addressed promptly to prevent further mistreatment of customers, including UNM students and families.
