While some things have changed over the last few decades, El Pollo Loco's delivery of fresh, authentic food has not. Everything starts with whole chickens that are slowly marinated in a special recipe of herbs, spices, fruit juices and garlic. The chicken is then expertly fire-grilled to perfection the authentic way - on our signature open-flame grills - then hand cut into your favorite Mexican entrees. We put that same dedication and care into our handmade guacamole, salsas and dressings every day. At El Pollo Loco in Albuquerque, NM, we believe that when real food meets real fire the result is great taste that will keep you coming back again and again.
Since its opening I've been about three times. Every single time I go there is an issue whether it be with the coupon I'm using or if I ordered through mobile then there's an issue or they don't have an item that I like. Order on the first visit they sold me a taco that literally look like the meat was vaporized inside. The management does what they can but honestly there's no point in going there it's horrible.

I am an El Pollo Loco fan! The first time I had it was a few years ago when we took a cross country drive from PA to CA. I have been hooked since! I was so excited when I found there was one here in Albuquerque. Unfortunately, my first time at this location was subpar at best. The service in the drive-thru was lackluster. The order wasn't correct when we got it from the pick-up window. I paid almost $5 for a single chicken breast that was small it must have come from a "teen chicken". Lastly, which is absolutely the worst part, there was a long, black strand of hair in the food. I'm so disappointed. We spent $43 on 4 a la carte items and I don't feel like I got what we paid for.

This location sucks, I visited this location on more than one occasion and they are not ready for prime time. They have been out of chicken twice, middle of the afternoon and no chicken. They don't have salsa bar. Either you had to go to the counter and request salsa. I haven't visited a Pollo loco where you have to go to the count of the request. Salsa, give me a break. Version of El Pollo loco so yeah I would not recommend coming here even if you have a positive nostalgia of what a El Pollo loco is.

Their food is always good but they ALWAYS forget our salsas, tortillas, straws etc. The window people are RUDE every single time we go. Their employees do not care about anything. We’ve given them the benefit of the doubt so many times. We’re over it. So sad because we love this place but definitely won’t be back until things change. Their employees are definitely driving this place into the ground. It has so much potential But things will never get better until they address their employees.

My husband and I went there to eat for the 2nd time. And this time I ordered my food through the app because I had a coupon. My husband ordered his food through the kiosk and got his food right away. Unfortunately, I had to wait more than 10 minutes for my food and then when I asked for the drink, they were rude. Then when I asked for salsa, they were rude and they threw my food at me in a bag. The food was good but the staff were very rude and I’m not sure if I’ll be back.
