    Online ordering has seriously gone downhill in a major way from Acme on Route 515 in Vernon, NJ. I placed an order on 01/19/2026. I ordered at 12:21pm for between 2:00pm to 3:00pm. I got a notification saying it was delayed. Being delayed isn’t a big deal but a half hour past my delivery time goes by and my order wasn’t even shopped. I called the store and was told my order would be delivered in 1 to 2 hours and there are staffing issues. I get a notification 20 minutes later saying my order was being shopped. I was notified that they didn’t have a bag of limes so I went through the chat and spoke with the shopper requesting loose limes. I received a pleasant response and was accommodated. I received a notification saying my order was shopped and completed. I was waiting for the app to update to say my order was out for delivery and 8:00pm rolls around with no updates. I finally decide to go up to bed. The next morning I wake up to see still no update within the app. I finally call to see what the status was of my order. I speak to a manager and he starts to tell me you need to take it up with DoorDash, I told the gentleman that the order never left the store. He said I needed to talk to online pickup/delivery. I speak to the manager in the online pickup/delivery. I explain what happened, she told me she does not have my order and my order was never shopped. I told her my order said it was shopped and completed. She kept saying there wasn’t an order for me there and she knows that it wasn’t sent out with the DoorDash courier. I don’t understand how there wasn’t a order there when I was speaking to someone through the app to switch the item that was out of stock. The manager then said that the system shuts down at 8:00pm and they had a lot of orders that day around 2pm because of the upcoming storm that was 6 days away. I ordered at 12:21pm so how could the “being slammed with orders at 2:00pm” have anything to do with my order.

    Their online pick up/drop off has really gone down hill. I ordered 20 items at noon for a 5pm drop off. I ordered mostly candy for baking and a rotisserie chicken and eggs. For dinner I was having rotisserie chicken. It was out of stock. Fine. I asked for any other prepared food like fried chicken. My eggs were out of stock. I asked for any other eggs. None of this was accommodated and left as out of stock. You pay extra fees for labor, bagging, and delivery. Now I have to leave my house to get food tonight due to lack of communication with this order. I’ve placed orders in the past that were never shopped or delivered. I keep trying to call the store before they make my delivery but no one is answering. I moved here 5 years ago and this grocery store has always been disappointing.

    I placed a pick up order at 8:45 am for 4-5pm on 12/1/25. I could not get out for lunch so I made sure I had food after our vacation to pick up on my way home after work. I waited until 7:30pm for my order only for them to tell me it would not be ready. Unacceptable customer service!!! I selected a time and gave you more than enough time to shop my order. Instead my family had no dinner and my kids are home today with little food during the storm. Shop Rite has never failed me and from now on I will be leaving town to shop at a store that guarantees what is promised. I've lived in Vernon for 27 years and once again my local food store failed me. Make note of this to anyone in a bind placing a pick up order. You would be better to just go inside and waste your own time instead being let down by other people. So you are all aware Shop Rite only does orders within time slots so that this never happens to it's customers.
