I was looking forward to trying some good Soul Food. Looking forward to trying this place. I order the jerk chicken breast. $30 for 1 person, it better be good. The cubed chicken was dry and hard with nothing that tastes like “Jerk “ chicken. Had their water down spicy sauce. I was very disappointed. I was looking forward to eating my blueberry cornbread. Tasted nothing like cornbread, was more like blueberry pound cake. I will not be purchasing from them again.
We’ve been ordering DoorDash sometimes from this restaurant and never had an issue until now.
My girlfriend had ordered recently and there was a hair in my jerk tacos and a gnat was flying with the chicken wings she ordered. We do not have gnats in our home. I find it coincidental a hair and gnat was present with this order. We won’t be ordering from this place anymore!
To the manager, we can provide the DoorDash receipt for proof that it was a recent order.
Where do I start 🥰 everything from here was good. I had a little bit of everything. Oxtails falling off the bones, fish fried just right. Mac and cheese is MACin lol and cheesy. Blueberry cornbread melt in your mouth best cornbread ever. The yams was not right, spoke to the owner and he came out apologized and came out and give me fresh yams. Not all owners will do that. The service is A1. This about to be my favorite spot to get some good food.
I’ve visited **Exotic Eats** several times since it first opened. My very first visit was easily a five-star experience the food was absolutely amazing. I was so impressed that I even promoted the restaurant on my Facebook and Instagram pages.
Unfortunately, my experiences since then have steadily declined. Early on, the owners appeared to be very hands-on at this location, and the quality of the food reflected that. I believe they now focus more on another location, and since they’ve stepped back, the food quality here has suffered.
On my second visit, the food was mediocre, and the cornbread was severely overbaked nearly burnt. During my third visit, the mac and cheese was extremely oily, with grease pooling on top to the point that it was inedible. Despite this, I kept giving the restaurant chances because that first experience was so memorable.
Today’s visit was the final disappointment. I spent $35 on one plate of food and truly feel like I wasted my money. The shrimp were not properly cleaned, the breading was completely bland, and lacked the seasoning and corn-based coating typically expected in Caribbean cuisine it tasted like plain flour dropped straight into the fryer. Overall, the flavor profile no longer resembles traditional Caribbean or Southern food.
To make matters worse, $35 for five shrimp, a side of potato salad, rice, and cornbread is extremely overpriced especially given the current quality. For that price, I expect a consistently excellent, five-star meal. Instead, I could have gone elsewhere and received two full plates of better food for the same cost.
Unless the owners return to being directly involved in preparing the food, I’m not sure I’ll be coming back. This is especially disappointing considering how strong this restaurant started.

I ordered the oxtails, mac & cheese, and yams, and everything was amazing. The oxtails were tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The mac & cheese was creamy with real flavor, and the yams were soft, sweet, and well seasoned.
On top of that, they were so nice and even let me try samples before ordering, which I really appreciated. The food was affordable, portions were good, and everything tasted fresh and homemade.
Great customer service, great prices, and real soul food. I’ll definitely be coming back.
