  I have been going to House 157 for a few years. I went today afterwork for happy hour. The waiter billed me regular price because I wasn't sitting at the bar. I have never had to sit at the bar to get happy hour. I explained that it wasn't advertised on their page for bar area only. It's about principle and I will not be returning. It's too many other restaurants to visit.

  I had my birthday dinner at House 157 and the staff was amazing. They were prepared for my reservation, able to accommodate my party of 10 upstairs, in a semi-private area, and the staff was super attentive. My party report that they enjoyed the food and the drinks. The presentation was on point! I ordered the steak, which I will never do again. My friend said “nobody goes to a Caribbean /soul food restaurant, and orders steak”. And she’s right…I will order a signature dish next time, it all looked very good.

  I had a horrible experience here! The customer service was horrible. I had a brunch for about 13 women upstairs., There was hair baked not one of my guest food, but mine as well. The salmon. They argued me down. This was two years ago., I thought I told my family members to stay out of there, To my surprise, my daughter went there and had the worst experienceEver!! will never step foot in this place again.! I honestly should’ve called the health department to take a look in that kitchen ! They honestly need to take business classes on how to operate/ Customer Skills services. It’s really sad because I love to support black businesses, but they continue to fail simple test.. Again, this is two years later and they’re still treating their guests like this.. 🙏🏽

  Service was great from our Bartender Iris and Waitress Kimani. Chicken empanadas with the sauce was my favorite. I had the deep friend chicken dinner with Mac and greens. The greens came out room temp and our waitress immediately brought me a steaming hot one. They could have used a little more seasoning but they weren't bad. The chicken was fried extra hard so if you prefer it that way then you would enjoy it. It was too deep fried for my liking. The mac and cheese was seasoned well but could have had more cheese pull. The cornbread was more cakelike instead of cornbread but still tasty. Overall I enjoyed the experience. The restaurant was beautiful, the staff was friendly and the food was good. I will visit again!

  Imani provided an excellent experience at House 157. From the moment I arrived, she was professional, attentive, and made sure everything was taken care of with care and precision. Her attention to detail really stood out, and she created a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere throughout the entire service. Imani was not only efficient but also personable, making the experience even more enjoyable. It’s clear she takes pride in her work and values her clients. I would definitely recommend her services and look forward to booking with her again!
