- GGGiana Giorello1 day ago5.0My boyfriend and I came in tonight after an event; we made a reservation this afternoon not knowing how busy the area would be and just for peace of mind. We got here early, walked in and they knew we were the party of 2 immediately (we were over an hour early). The ambience is so cozy and we were greeted by staff as soon as we sat down. Our server Leo was knowledgeable of the specials, prompt with service, and was overall very pleasant along with his counterpart for the evening. The fresh bread was warm and delicious along with the calamari. It was so flavorful and the sauce was great though the calamari was perfect on its own without sauce and that says a lot. It was crispy and light with just the right amount of batter. Not soggy and the coating stayed on. (Safe to say it did not disappoint) The spaghettini carbonara special with shrimp was perfect- flavorful but not to the point where it's drenched in cream. The vel parm was a generous portion cooked to perfection perfect balance of crisp, cheese and sauce. We were too stuffed for dessert but would've ordered just about any of the items we looked at. I'm not a frequent review writer and we found Monticello by looking at a map of the area for today, but I am so pleased with everything today. Great food, attentive and welcoming staff, and the cozy family feel without being on top of anyone. Definitely coming back for dessert at least
