My family and I took a trip to Nimbu to try out this new establishment as we heard great things. Everything we tried out was absolutely delicious. The food was so flavorful without being overpowering and the ingredients used were high quality and super fresh. The staff couldn't be nicer, and they were well versed in food allergens which was important to us. The ambiance in the restaurant is beautiful, bright and uplifting. Every detail of this place is well thought out from the food, flavors, and ambiance all the way to their menu/logo design. My kids loved the Chit Chaat Fries & Mango Lassi. So much so, that it was requested that I whip a batch of the Mango Lassi drink for them at home. Thanks for a wonderful experience, and we'll be back soon.

For such a diverse area, there are very few eateries that measure up. When I go out, I am looking for tasty food that I cannot make, served by nice people, and at a price I can afford. Nimbu does all of this and exceeds expectations on all fronts. I rarely write reviews, but I felt I needed to in order to spread the good news that a delicious place has come to town. As a busy working mom, this place has been a blessing and I'm so happy that it moved closer to where I live. Come support a local, women-run business...it being right next to Trader Joes is just an added bonus!
The food was light and not too greasy - great ambience and atmosphere. I wish the food was a bit more spicy but was overall good. I give it four stars due to pricing - it was $6 for pre-made chai. In comparison, if you go to a coffee shop, even an Indian / middle eastern inspired shop, Starbucks, or a local coffee shop, they charge $5-7 for chai and it’s made fresh and it is customized to your milk choice - often with great chai blends. The ambience and service was really good and staff was really kind. Overall, I want to see this place thrive especially as a new business but I think some improvements need to be made to the menu and pricing. As a note to the owner, they need to determine if the restaurant will cater towards the fast casual space or high dining - being located near Trader Joe’s and with Chipotle nearby, people would likely want a quick place to eat that is somewhat affordable (would think about $12-15 a meal for a filling meal given the area). If they want to go high end, then they need to offer a traditional dining service and more entrees to justify the higher pricing (think Roots in the Whole Foods plaza as an example) vs a sit down place. Overall, great ambience and great to see a new business to the area and best of luck to them!
Always the best experience at Nimbu! We’ve been fans since they had their original location in Pennington and were super excited to see them re-open in Princeton. The decor continues to impress and overall ambience is lovely. We tried the paneer pakoras which came with a generous portion and was great for sharing. My friend tried the chicken samosas and said they were delicious, especially with the smoked chicken. We also had the veggie samosas, chit chaat fries, mango lassi, and the kachumbar salad (which is a new addition!). They’ve also added a bunch of other new things to their menu, which I’m excited to go back and try. Highly recommend this to anyone who loves good food! 😋
Stopped by Nimbu last week for a mid-afternoon bite. Overall the vibe is nice and owners have put some thought in creating the decor and vibe (albeit seeing some boxes of supplies on shelves dampened the vibe slightly)
The owner/manager was very friendly and greeted us as soon as we entered. I think because they have just started a few months ago, they only had about 8-10 items on menu which I am OK with as most Indian restaurants carry way too much stuff.
Food - we tried 2 things veg samosa and chaat plus tea. Owner had suggested we try vada pau but I am not a big fan of vada pau. Wasn’t wowed with food as neither was something I would say I have not had this before. Quantity is also small based on price they charge. Also ordered masala tea but charging $6 for a small cup was not worth it as I have had better tea other places plus we had to ask them to reheat it as it was lukewarm.
Ambiance, Service and decor - they shine here but as mentioned need to cover the shelves so customers are not looking at supplies of paper products while eating.
- Value - I found it too pricey for the portions especially since there was no wow in the taste of the samosa, tea or chaat. 2 smallish samosas for $8, tea was $6 and chaat was about $10.
Overall I am not sure if I would go again primarily from a value based perspective (price vs food taste and portion)
