Deeply disappointing experience at Brick House. From the moment we walked in, we were met with a lackluster greeting that set the tone for what was to come.
We told the host we wanted to sit at the bar and were told we could sit anywhere except the reserved tables, so we did exactly that. The three of us settled in at the bar and waited. And waited. Over five minutes passed without a single acknowledgment. No “I’ll be right with you,” no eye contact, nothing.
Finally, a server/bartender approached us, not to take our order, but to inform us that the bar was also reserved and we couldn’t sit there. Along with every table in the place. For a party that hadn’t even arrived yet.
As a former bartender with over a decade of experience, this baffles me. Any seasoned bar professional would have asked how long we planned to stay. We wanted one drink. We would have been out in 20 minutes, tops.
You didn’t just lose our business for the night. You lost it permanently. There are too many great spots in Princeton to spend time at a place where guests are treated as an inconvenience.

My mom and I went over the weekend to try the place for the first time. We walked in and didn’t see a single employee but people were seated and eating so we decided to wait. The computer on the hostess stand was on screensaver. After a few minutes my mom noticed the bartender and went to ask him. She had to wait to get his attention. He mentioned they were short staffed so we decided to leave. All in all in there about ten minutes and never saw another employee. Unlikely we’ll be back.

Horrendous service and/or poorly managed. Was told the wait for a table of 2 was 20 minutes. Sat at the bar to wait. After 30 minutes, went to check with the hostess on our table, as we’d seen another party of 2 whom arrived after us get seated. The hostess said she’d check on a table, and then came back and sat us right away (kind of seemed like we were forgotten). Proceeded to sit at the table for 15 minutes and not a soul came by to take our drink order. Decided to just get up and leave.
