I’ve come to this location for over 22 years and am done. Over the last few months, the establishment has gotten increasingly worse and worse. There are a few components to running a drive-thru effectively: Taking an order promptly, taking the correct order, and delivering the correct order being three of them. Virtually every morning, I’d get to the screen to place my order. Half the time, I’d sit in my car waiting for someone to speak to take my order. Sometimes it would be minutes. The other half, someone would speak at about one millionth of a decibel, completely inaudible to where I’d have to either ask if they were ready for my order since I couldn’t hear what they said or I’d have to tell them, I can’t hear them. Sorry, but if you’re going to hire someone to work the drive-thru, being able to speak with good volume and clarity is sort of a prerequisite. My instincts tell me they hired family. But that’s neither here nor there. Once it became obvious I’d have to place the order, I’d state my order clearly and with strong volume. Half the time, the person would either type it in wrong (as I saw on the screen what they’d put in as my order) or they’d repeat it back to me wrong. This wasn’t tough. “One croissant, UNtoasted, one EXTRA-large coffee, BLACK TWO sugars.” It was a simple order and I’d emphasize key words. Nope, they still couldn’t manage. It would be repeated back to me incorrectly way too often. Once it was corrected and I pulled up to get my food, there were issues. Croissants were far from fresh. On two occasions, they were clearly many days old as they were hard. On another occasion (when I was sick), I ordered an XL hot tea, got to my place of employment and realized, they never put the tea bags in. So they had only given me an XL cup with hot water. That was the last straw. I no longer go there. They have lost my business which alone amounts to about 1,500-$2,000 a year. I’ve now taken it to the Dunkin a quarter mile away by the Shop Rite in Perth Amboy. It’s another two minutes out of the way for me but so worth it. Everyone there does there jobs and does them well. The food is fresh and orders are taken quickly and correctly.
