I’m genuinely shocked I have to write this, but here we are.
I ordered EXTRA pickled onions. Not “if you feel like it.” Not “maybe toss one onion tear in there for decoration.” EXTRA. As in: I was counting on those pickled onions to carry this entire bowl emotionally, spiritually, and flavor-wise.
And what did I get?
NONE. ZERO. NOT A SINGLE PICKLED ONION IN SIGHT.
So let me paint the scene: I’m having one of those days. You know the kind where you’re basically running on fumes and delusion. I’m like, “It’s fine. Cava is gonna save me.” And specifically? Those pickled onions were going to be the highlight of my day. The little tangy crunch that says, “Life is still worth living.”
Instead I opened the bowl and got hit with the reality that my onions were never even born. It was like ordering a movie ticket and the theater hands you a blank wall and says “imagine it.”
I don’t want to be dramatic but… I actually do. Because this is outrageous. I paid extra for extra onions and received a bowl of lies. Who is in charge of onions here?? Do you guys have an onion shortage? Are the onions on strike? Did my onions get sent to a better customer?
I ate the bowl anyway (because I’m not wasting money) but it tasted like disappointment with a side of betrayal.
Fix it. Train your staff. Start an Onion Accountability Program. I’m begging.
1 star. I would give 0 if I could, but apparently “extra” means “none” in this establishment.

Went on a Sunday, it was chaotic, had to wait about 45 minutes for our food, the employees are nice and helpful, but they were a bit in over their head, food was good though, consistent with other locations. Only went once, so perhaps that's not the usual experience there.

Not sure what happened to this place. The food is good. The service is super slow now. The people who ring you up are laughing and joking around while the line is out the door. It's really crazy. If you order pick up, it won't be ready anywhere near the time they tell you so plan ahead. It was good before. The service is really bad

I like CAVA but this was probably the smallest portion size I’ve ever been given. I got a greens and grains bowl and the amount of rice they gave was laughable. Definitely not 170 cal worth of rice like it says on the website when you order a greens and grains bowl. I ordered in person too this wasn’t even takeout
