I am a regular, longtime shopper at this Old Bridge ACME store, as well as Whole Foods of Marlboro, Wegmans Manalapan, and Food Emporium Marlboro. Because I always seek the highest quality I can find, I choose among the latter three stores based upon the particular items needed and which store I have come to know consistently offers the best, e.g., Whole Foods has the best organic pastured raised egg selection, best organic produce, best grass fed meat selection by far; Wegmans has the best seafood departments, best cheese department, including the freshest Parmigiana Reggiano, and bakery department by far. On the other hand, the ACME store excels at absolutely nothing and I choose to shop there solely as a matter of convenience, because it is located just down the road. My beef with ACME, hence the reason I have chosen to write this review is my extreme distaste for their ongoing, relentless, SICKENINGLY SLEAZY PRICING SCHEME PRACTICES! Each and every time one shops at this store, you can expect to find the price of this or that item you regularly go there to purchase, has suddenly been changed. Take a necessary staple like bottled water. You make the decision to go to ACME, because two days prior, their price was not more (never is less) than at the other three stores, and lo and behold, you find the price has been marked up by a full $.50, or more! Today as a specific example I see their price for a gallon of Poland Springs water has been jacked up to $3.79 from their already ridiculous price of $3.29 just three days ago, this while all of the three other stores have invariably been selling it for $2.49 without change for at least a full year. Same goes for their ice cream offerings, where every few days one can expect to find any number of appreciable price manipulations. A week ago, I wanted to buy Wymanns Frozen Wild Blueberries, found it priced at $14.99, and I went without it because I know that Whole Foods has been selling the same thing for $10.99! While at ACME three days ago, because I just happened to be in the same aisle where those frozen blueberries are kept, I figured I'd check on the price. From a distance, I spotted a yellow tag which signaled to me that perhaps by some miracle they had it on sale; only to find that of all the supreme insults to one's intelligence the tag DID say "SALE," but the price was $15.99, a dollar MORE than their most recent everyday price! Suffice to say that was the last straw for me. This ACME store's longstanding pattern of ongoing relentless price scheming is a total disgrace and an outrage and whoever is responsible should be fired for their persistent blatant disregard for their customers' and the public's trust.

Went there on Christmas Day to get orange juice for my sick child. Saw that they closed at 2 and walked up to the door at 1:45, only to be greeted by an employee who told me that they were closed and would not let me in. While I understand that it was Christmas and nobody wanted to work, it doesn’t mean that you should turn people away while you are still open. I tried to explain that my child was home sick and that I only needed one item and that nothing else was open. He still would not let me in. IF YOU ARE OPEN UNTIL 2 THEN WHY ARE YOU CLOSING AT 1:45??? I will not be back!

Disgusting, spoiled food. Overpriced Way Wayne too overpriced. The cost of the exact same items at ShopRite way lower. Also half of their meat was spoiled today. The raw burger patties were pretty much grey and the whole area smelled. The place is an absolute mess. How they are still in business who knows. Even their cold cuts had 4 that were over a week expired.

My wife and I just had a great experience with Jeff in the Deli. Old school meat slicer who knows what he’s doing and very nice guy.
