About ten minutes later, my entrée arrived, hot and presented with some of the best hospitality ever. I’ve had Afghan food many times, and I’ve had chapli kebab from other places. This is different. Dining here genuinely felt like going back to my childhood. It felt like rediscovering one of my favorite foods of all time in real time; something I didn’t even think was still possible as an adult. The outer edges of the chapli were crisped to perfection, while the inside was incredibly soft, warm, and packed with flavor. Perfect balance. Paired with the Kabuli pulao; sweet raisins, tender carrots, plus the white and green sauces, the combination was unforgettable. If you’ve only ever ordered takeout from here, I 110% recommend dining in next time. And if you’ve never eaten here and enjoy some of the cleanest, most flavorful food in the world, do yourself a favor: order some bolanis and a chapli kebab, dip it in the white sauce, and thank me later.
