I love dropping in for a cold tea and snack. The workers all make eye contact, and always seem like they enjoy their job and each other. Its always busy and still so clean.

Food and service was very good. What was bad is they did not shovel their walkway or plow the parking lot. This was six hours after the snow stopped and every other store we went to was properly plowed and shoveled.

This Panera cafe has gone down in quality and service over the years. We use to go there frequently since I live only 5 minutes away. Now I only go occasionally, and once again my last visit was a disappointment. The place looked unkempt and outdated. If you look around, it is obvious the place is superficially cleaned. There were no dark roast or light roast coffee in the urns, sugar packets were not restocked. My friend’s order pager never went off. She waited almost 20 minutes and by the time she checked at the food counter, her order was cold. I noticed another patron near our table waiting a long time for his order and told him to go check, and sure enough his order had been sitting on the counter and his pager did not go off. In addition, the cold beverage station was out of order. I have nothing against the people who work there. They are probably over worked and under paid. I believe this is a corporate problem, not investing in staffing and upgrades. I received an email survey from Panera later that day which I filled out. To my surprise I got a response back from a manager named Juli apologizing for my experience. She offered to send me a meal voucher as compensation. This was over 6 weeks ago and I have yet to receive anything. Why bother reaching out to me when she had no intention of fulfilling her offer. Totally disingenuous.

Panera Bread I had lunch at Panera today and ordered my usual favorite—the Chicken Frontega sandwich. I normally really enjoy this meal, but today’s experience was very disappointing. The sandwich had almost no substance: minimal chicken, a tiny piece of tomato (not even a full slice), some cheese, and a bit of sauce. For a meal costing around $20, the quality felt far below Panera’s usual standard. When I arrived, the digital sign indicated that my lunch was ready. However, when I checked both the shelf and the counter, it wasn’t there. As I approached the counter to ask about it, the representative sharply told me to “step away from the counter” in a very harsh tone, which was unexpected and uncomfortable. Another team member gave a slight laugh/smile as he began preparing my meal clearly it was not actually ready. After receiving my order, I checked my bag and saw that my cup for the drink was missing. I had to return to the counter again, waiting at a distance just to avoid any further conflict. This experience is particularly concerning because I am planning to purchase 165 box lunches from Panera for an upcoming work road trip. I truly hope this was an isolated incident, because I’ve always enjoyed Panera and would like to continue choosing it for both personal meals and large group orders.
