  Extremely disappointed, and left feeling very uncomfortable. We went for Valentines Day dinner and ordered Cesar salads, Bolognese pasta and a NY strip. Salad and pasta were ok.The steak came out with the wrong side. No problem. I am not one to complain at all. But, the steak temp was way off (ordered med well, was basically rare.), I quietly mentioned it to the waiter, (we had 2 different waiters) and he said he would take care of it. Less than a minute later, the second waiter asked in a rather loud voice if I ordered the steak temp correctly. Pretty embarrassing. The steak was back at the table within 2-3 minutes. It was the same steak, as (I cut the center to check the temp originally.) It was still pretty rare, and cold (as well as the side). I told the waiter again, and refused another after he began to make a scene. He proceeded to take my girlfriend’s food to wrap without asking. Brought the check without the steak on it. I was in shock of how everything happened, and how uncomfortable I felt I was treated.

  This is one of Hunterdon County's hidden gems. The food is outstanding, the service is excellent and the atmosphere is very welcoming. No liquor license but you can BYOB or go next door to Bourban Street. If you haven't tried Janina's Bistro, you are truly missing a wonderful dining experience.

  can’t say enough about the wonderful experience we had hosting our daughter’s engagement party at Janina’s Bistro. To be honest, we took a risk booking a place we hadn't personally dined at, but the Google reviews were spot on. Tom and his staff were fantastic hosts for our group of 40. Every guest was raving about the food and the hospitality. Janina’s attention to detail really made us feel like we made the perfect choice for such a special milestone. They have certainly gained new regulars, as we’ve already returned for dinner since! After visiting and reviewing many restaurants, Janina’s has earned a spot in our top ten. If you’re looking for a great BYOB with heart, this is it.

  This is for take out only. Food was just ok at best. Penne Vodka was very bland, lacking sauce and flavor; no prosciutto, garlic, parm flavor. Chicken Parm- Chicken was good but small, the spaghetti with it was overcooked and again lacked sauce and flavor. All portions were small for the price you pay. Very disappointing. Did not distinguish themselves from the many, many other Italian food options nearby. Maybe when you dine there they do a better job.
