Well. You get transformed back to an authentic feel of a new york deli. Juniors cheese cakes.
I had the turkey Reuben...it was salty and the meat was cheap turkey, deli meat. Owner claimed he "puts it in the oven" but I'm not so sure. The shrimp salad was awesome, jumbo shrimp.
Had large roast beef sandwich. The kaiser role tastes like it was days old and not the fresh baked golden yellow. The roast beef was dry and they should of probably have gravy to dip in or refigerize properly. The owner was ordering frozen meat and went for the more cheaper. The best was the Dr. Brown soda. Quality and little less quantity means repeat customers. Two size sandwiches would do instead of three.
I had a great experience at Pastrami Hut NY Style Delicatessen. The food was fresh, flavorful, and exactly what you’d expect from a true New York–style deli. The pastrami was on point—perfectly seasoned, tender, and stacked right. Service was fast and professional, and the overall vibe was welcoming. You can tell they take pride in what they do. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to and recommending to others.
Food was okay. Got a chicken cutlet sandwich and fries..chicken was dry and bland. Older guy working the counter wasn’t so friendly and seemed more creepy than anything. A couple young girls came in while I was waiting for my food and he was distracted eyeing them up and down. Made some odd remarks to them. Pretty uncomfortable. Wouldn’t send my daughters in there alone.
Place has been changed over..
Idk how long they are going to stay in business. The minute we walked into the door during the day , it was empty with an order counter and booths you could sit in.
There was “No hello” from the owner. My husband had to say hello just to get some action going lol
I asked about the name of it was the old place and he seemed to be a bit defensive about it. That was the 2nd odd thing.
We asked about getting a 1- 2 meat combo sandwich, nothing about adding extra meat just whatever they originally u would put on just do 1/2 & 1/2. The prices were the same anyway.
He says there was going to be an up charge for that- which would bring it up to $20. Hope they pack in thick for that $.
we were still interested in trying this place out so we said ok.
He must of heard us talking about eating it there as we were sitting at a table looking at the menu. As we were going up to pay- Then he comes out with… there will be a sharing charge… a sharing charge??? Are u kidding me?
Why does it matter how we eat a sandwich? Especially in a counter type of place with no action? lol
Well I guess that was icing on the cake and something was telling us we weren’t meant to eat there…We just said- ok thanks I think we are going to pass and we walked out in disbelief with the entire interaction being there.
He said have a nice day- didn’t seem like he even wanted business, you could just tell in his demeanor and how he interacted with us..
It’s actually funny because of his choices being a mom and pop place which u would think they bend over backwards even more because they don’t have a corporate chain backing them up. Oh well, he lost out on a sale. So, Wawa for the win with even 2 sandwiches with drinks it was under $20.
