  The food was delicious and full of authentic Indian flavors. The dishes were fresh, well-spiced, and very satisfying. The staff was friendly, and the service was quick. Overall, a great place to enjoy tasty Indian food. Joe and Vinit were great with recommendations. Must try this place.

  I am writing to share feedback regarding our recent to Saoji, New Jersey location. We were genuinely excited to dine at this restaurant, especially because my wife is from Nagpur and we were looking forward to enjoying authentic Nagpuri Saoji cuisine. I am from Goa, and I had also ordered the fish fry, which we had enjoyed very much during our previous visit. Unfortunately, this time our experience did not meet our expectations. The fish fry was served without any salt, and when we brought this to the staff’s attention, salt was sprinkled on top of the dish. Unfortunately, this made it excessively salty and completely inedible, and we had to leave the entire dish untouched. What disappointed us further was that despite explaining the situation, the dish was not adjusted on our bill and we were charged the full price for something we could not eat. We truly respect the effort that goes into running a restaurant and usually do not complain, but this experience was quite disheartening, especially since we had such positive memories from our previous visit. We hope you will take this feedback constructively and look into improving both food consistency and customer service alike.

  The Service & Atmosphere The service was the most disappointing aspect of the evening. We waited over an hour for our food to arrive, which is difficult to justify in any restaurant setting. More concerning, however, was the behavior of the staff. The waiter completely ignored my girlfriend throughout the meal. Even at the end, when she was the one who paid the bill, he refused to acknowledge her. It was a blatant display of disrespect that felt rooted in sexism, making for an incredibly uncomfortable dining environment. The Food The meal itself did nothing to make up for the service: • Bombil Fry: A dish that relies on a crisp exterior, this version was underwhelming—lacking the signature crunch and freshness you expect from Bombay Duck. • Fish & Goat Thalis: Both thalis were mediocre. The fish lacked the vibrant, punchy heat characteristic of Nagpur Saoji, and the goat was not as tender as it should have been. The gravies lacked the deep, complex "tari" (oil layer) and spice profile that defines this style of cooking. Final Verdict Between the one-hour service delay, the disappointing food, and the disrespectful, sexist treatment from the staff, this was a poor experience. For a cuisine that is supposed to be a celebration of intense flavor, the only thing memorable about this visit was the unprofessionalism. Would I return? Absolutely not.
