Quality control here is very inconsistent. Sometimes everything is fine, but multiple times I’ve received orders with missing items, missing sauces, or cold food. The chicken is also very inconsistent sometimes it’s properly coated in sauce, and other times it barely has any at all. That level of inconsistency isn’t acceptable for a place that charges premium prices.

The foods over all is decent. The chicken cooks in the right temperature with flavorful sauce. There is only one thing I didnot like the restaurant, ordering two times big order for my office, there were always issue that I have encountered. The first time was the peri sauce is spilling all over the bag due to the cap was not closed it all the way on the container. The second order was they forgot to put the burger in my bag even though they already charged the cc. Unable to call the restaurant at all. Left message and no one get back to me.

I have never left a Google review anywhere let alone a bad one, but I thought everyone should be aware of what I experienced at Port of Peri Peri East Rutherford today. First of all, I ordered online and ordered the Zinger Burger special deal, which I picked because the sandwich looked good and it had a deal for a drink with the meal. I have not personally had Port of Peri Peri before today and I tried it because I had heard their sandwiches were good. So I picked it up at 12pm ish and first of all the building did not have any lights on inside and it was noticeably unclean. The one worker that was in there was sitting at a table on his phone and it seemed like I had been the only one to order today. I have picked up before from here for our office (but did not try the food) and noticed the same thing about the atmosphere, so to come back and see it was the same was the first disappointment. Then I took my food and did not eat in there. I had some of my fries first and to give them the benefit of the doubt they were not too bad, a little soggy but that's to be expected for ordering ahead of time. Then I opened my burger and was beyond disappointed — either they gave me the wrong item or their advertising is completely fake. I have attached photos of the menu photo and the reality. Instead of a ciabatta bun, which I was looking forward to and which was advertised, it was quite a soggy brioche bun. The chicken was breaded and not grilled as advertised and was quite dry. The flavor was ok to be fair, a lot spicier than imagined since I picked the regular sauce option. The tomato was still on the burger which I asked to be taken off, but that was fine as I could do that myself. Anyway, overall, I am not writing this review to cause issues, I would just like to see something done about this for future customers, because personally I will not be going back here for a very long time if ever again.

The Port of Peri Peri never disappoints! The chicken was perfectly grilled, juicy, and packed with flavor. The spice level options are great, so you can customize it exactly how you like. The sides were fresh, especially the fries and rice. The staff was friendly and service was quick. Definitely a great spot if you’re craving flavorful peri peri chicken.

We order $140 worth of lamb chop (16 pcs) to go, $33.00 each order + tax. When we got home, we noticed we got 20 or so shoulder pieces that are all bones some of them, each pieces of meat is different parts, burnt and chewy. I called the store right away and they told me that other customers complained that the lamb chops do not have too much meat, and they now only carry shoulder pieces because it has more meat, they advised me to try it first and call back, well..we tried it and called back, lamb chops and shoulder pieces are NOT the same thing. Store should have told me they do not carry lamb chops anymore when I called to place the order and only carry shoulder pieces, they were not being honest in their dealings. Long story short, they said they will refund me $70 when I was on my way to the store. Let’s see if I get my refund!!! I will never order from there again. Owners changed little over a year ago and they are now skimming the customers on lamb chops from the last one month. Please be honest with the customers. It’s okay if you don’t have lamb chops anymore. Inform the customer please. Update: $70 is been refunded to me.
