- TPTheressa Parra-ZayedFeb 17, 20261.0I had the worst experience at Five Guys in East Rutherford. I placed my order around 6:10 PM and didn’t receive my food until 7:30 PM, over an hour later. During that time, I kept asking for updates and was repeatedly told, “Just one moment.” Meanwhile, they continued taking more and more orders (in-person, Uber Eats, and DoorDash) while the people already waiting had been there for 30+ minutes. The restaurant was packed, and multiple customers were visibly frustrated and complaining about the excessive wait times. It was clear they were completely overwhelmed and not managing the order flow properly. If they can’t control the volume of orders, they shouldn’t be offering multiple ordering platforms at the same time. It creates chaos and leaves customers standing around irritated. By the time I finally got my food, I wasn’t even hungry anymore, just annoyed from waiting so long. I would not recommend going here unless you’re prepared to wait a very long time.

After placing our order, it took only about 5-10 minutes for everything to be freshly prepared. While waiting, we could actually watch our burgers and hot dogs being cooked, which was a nice touch and really shows the freshness. The only small downside was that it was quite cold inside to sit and eat, but that’s not enough of a reason to take away any stars. Overall, a fantastic experience and nothing but praise from me. Highly recommended!

Serving peanuts for free began as a way for people to pass the time while they waited for us to cook up their meals (way back in the day, before smartphones). It was such a hit, and has become such a Five Guys tradition, that we keep our stores stocked with peanuts to this day.
