I placed an order via UberEats for pick up, and I received a notification that the order was ready. I arrived to the store/restaurant, checked the mobile order shelf, which was empty. I made my way to counter, and found employees including the manager, congregating behind the register, engaged in personal conversation, almost as if they were on break…(please note there was nobody on line). I stood there 2-3 minutes as a courtesy, thinking someone would eventually acknowledge me…they didn’t. I had to raise my hand and say “excuse me”, and someone finally came to the register. Providing perspective: 4-7 ppl were behind the register. I told them that I have a mobile order and provided my name, which the order was later found in the back, ready and packed. It seems someone just forgot to deliver it to the mobile order shelf. Upon checking the bag and burrito bowl, my guacamole was missing which we all know, there’s an extra fee/charge. The rep offered me a small up of guacamole, which is not the usual serving size that I paid for, then argued me down that, “if I wanted more, I would have to pay double” although I had already paid for the standard serving size.
Upon inspecting the bag again. I noticed that my soft tortillas was missing, which I also paid extra for, and when I brought it to their attention, the rep threw the tortillas in the bag, and said “that’s for free, for the inconvenience” and I showed her proof the receipt, and told her: “It’s not free, I already paid for this item, it should have already been in the bag. She proceeded to get nasty with me, told me she was the manager, which was surprising, and I told her, this service was absolutely unacceptable!! Double charging me for guacamole that was missing, then pretending to do me a favor for another item that was also missing.
She claims to be a manager, but the place is run poorly. It was a mess, none of the food had been replenished, whilst it appeared no one was preparing fresh food….everyone was behind the cash register, on their phones, talking about their weekend plans. She is not doing a good job.
After all of this she offered me a free meal, but the treatment beforehand was gross. The manager at the east Rutherford store, needs to be retrained or fired. She is the reason why the staff is laid back and stealing company time, while failing to provide customer service, and a clean atmosphere. Corporate needs to get in there immediately. I didn’t want the free meal, I want you to treat customers with some decency the first time.

Normally I like this chipotle but to have barely any food out more than an hour before closing is a little too much. We arrived an 1hr and 30 min before closing and they weren’t putting out no rice, no steak , no queso, no corn, no lettuce, no chips… only chicken, pulled pork, brown rice, pico de gallo and guac, there was nothing in there when we went in. Really disappointed.
