  I ordered takeout from El Gordo Coqui yesterday and wow — everything was absolutely delicious! The empanadas were golden and crispy with perfectly seasoned filling — fresh, flavorful, and not greasy at all. The pernil was tender, juicy, and packed with rich, slow-roasted flavor that melts in your mouth. And the Cuban sandwich? Incredible. Crispy pressed bread, savory pork, ham, gooey melted cheese, and just the right balance of pickles and mustard — every bite was perfection. And I can’t forget dessert — the tres leches cake was AMAZING. Moist, light, perfectly sweet, and soaked just right without being soggy. It was the perfect ending to an already fantastic meal. Everything was packaged well and still hot when I got home. The portions were generous, and you can truly taste the authenticity and care in the food. If you’re craving real Latin comfort food done right, this is the spot. I’ll definitely be back! A sincere thank you to the owners for not only delivering incredible flavors, but for creating an experience rooted in warmth and authenticity. That kind of hospitality makes all the difference.   When my fiance asked me to go get Puerto Rican take out I figured I would be going to the standard Puerto Rican restaurant with the same standard recipe I’ve had my whole life at these restaurants growing up in NYC. It’s good, but tastes like it’s from a Puerto Rican restaurant you know? Here’s what took me by surprise it tasted like my mother and grandmothers cooking. I was thoroughly impressed and I really enjoyed my meal. The pernil was absolutely fantastic, kidney beans were great and aroz con gondules was amazing. You can always tell when something is cooked with love. I Will absolutely be back.

  I was expected more puertorican zason…pero is not…sorry!…the cuban sandwish was so wet and saggy…🤦🏾‍♂️…and the pork was make maybe on slowcook pots…ewwww!…sorry im from PuertoRico MonteHatillo RioPiedras…And i know how perfects CubanSandwish are made…no bad fellings…but…max rating… 🎹🎼🎤🇵🇷3.2 max!…Blessings!…
