Understaffed store. Meat department closed due to no one showing up for work. Sale items are often not in stock. Manahawkin store is smaller, but much better.

Good clean store, but they are pricey. I just buy the stuff that’s on sale. They do have some items that you can’t find anywhere else.

GOOD: Donuts. Staff. BAD: Not sure if there are still flies in the produce section, but I stopped checking a long time ago. The final straw for me is actually the country music, which I so strongly dislike that I can't bear shopping there anymore. (Might seem weird, but imagine walking around listening to music that for some reason gets under your skin; you probably wouldn't subject yourself to it, either.) If you want to seem folksy and relatable, maybe just play oldies.

UPDATE: to make it worse she REWROTE our receipt taking off the optional charge we paid!!!!!!! If I didnt keep my copy we wouldn't have gotten the deposit back!! What scam is your store running, STEALING money from disabled veterans!!!! Horrible, wish I could give zero stars. Because of acmes ignorance and lack of employees and customer service my disabled veteran husband and I had to pay an extra $50 for the bigger rug doctor vacuum when we just needed the spot cleaner. After waiting 25 minutes for the "manager" who works at the customer service desk, and also told by the other "manager" or "key holder" that she cant leave her station, standing there helping no one, to come assist the line of 4 waiting at customer service. The gentleman infront of us was there for so long his milk was no longer good. After being told by a few employees "that's not my job I cant help you" and them paging the same person 5 times someone finally came out to help. We went in asking for the $29.99 small spot cleaner, your employee had no idea where the key was, called another manager who had no idea where the key was, so trying to make her life easier we took the larger one, which we didnt need. Then proceeded to charge us an "optional cleaning deposit" to make our total over $100. My husband who has a very severe traumatic brain injury then swipes his credit card and all of a sudden the total goes up to $195. Had i not been looking and said something she was going to charge him that amount. This place is a scam, the employees very unhelpful. As I was asking for a manager a cashier Jake takes out his phone to start recording me then proceeds to lie saying he was just checking his messages. This was after he told me he couldn't help the line of people that's not his job. I wish I had the luxury of saying that at my job. My disabled veteran husband has been in a handful of times since we moved to the area a few weeks ago, the "manager" at customer service is NEVER at the desk and he always has to wait more than 10 minutes for someone to find her. We literally live around the corner but will be driving to shoprite from now on, who treat veterans, and just regular customers better. I can not believe we were forced to spend an extra $50 for no reason.
