The lady behind the deli counter Rolled her eyes grumpily every time I asked for her to slice something fresh. And then complained to me the third time saying She would have to clean the slicer now, andand why don’t I just look at the prepackaged stuff even though I already had and everything there was two days old. So not thrilled about being made to feel guilty for shopping at a grocery store

The Meat Department needs revision. Someone keeps forgetting to use absorbent padding under the hamburger meat. We have noticed this on two consecutive occasions, and the lack of padding poses a significant foodborne illness risk as well as maintaining freshness of the product shelf life. Food safety 101.

I would give them 3 or maybe 4*. They are little overpriced, but they have some good items and sometimes good sale. But today I was buying one beer (I'm 67 years old) and I was asked for ID. I though it's a joke but it wasn't. I had to show my ID. So, in many places you cannot be even asked to show your ID when you vote for people in your government. But 67 years old MUST show ID when buying one beer. Common sense please !

Shaws does a great job maintaining their stores. Things might be a little cheaper at market basket, but frankly, it's not worth it for me to battle those crowds and messes. The produce at Shaws is materially better. The meat selection is excellent, there are no lines, and they're staffed appropriately. They make weekly Grocery shopping a little less hectic.
