  Hi, I went to this Hanaford to get some groceries for our trip. My partner (25) and I (25), decided to get some wine for the night and selected a nice rose. Upon checking out, our check out woman very rudely said "I need to see HER I.D. too." In a snappy tone that we did not deserve. I had left my wallet in the car, as I was not aware they would need both of our I.Ds. I have a disability and therefore need a service dog so it's less convenient for me to run out to the car really quick, but I was totally willing to do so! We did question it first, though, by politely saying "Oh we need both I.Ds?" Then, she practically yelled at me "Well YOU'RE shopping with him so OBVIOUSLY I'm going to need your DAMN I.D.." I was stunned, but I've worked a couple of customer service jobs before so maybe she was just having a bad day? So I walked outside to the car and got my I.D.. The thing is, it would have been fine if she was just a basic nice to us.. Like I get her job may be stressful but we weren't holding up a line, and I don't look under 21. When I came back with my I.D., she glared at me the entire way in and acted like I was some kind of criminal. Maybe it's because of my service dog? Perhaps she doesn't have any experience with them? I don't know, but I cried in the car after and now I'm pretty darn furious. She also treated the kind elderly woman behind us with the same mean attitude, so we definitely won't be shopping here again.

  Rip off. $2 more than anywhere else. Screw the CEOs. I can shop elsewhere. 🤑

  Not bad for a stop and shop when you're in the area as theres plenty of self checkouts available and staff are usually slithering around, ready to address any issue. Definitely recommend the chicken tenders from the kitchen btw.

  Update 1/22/26 Finally got a call back after i had to call back and remind them about the ADA. Ya know the americans with disabilities act, and apparently the manager I spoke to lied and wasnt even a manager... so they lie and hate disabled people... and if youre mart carts arent allowed outside and you need to ask for permission to take it outside where is the proper signage as per the ada 🤔.. disgusting company. Update 1/19/26 I had to call back and speak to customer service again... and i was told that my complaint went no where which is why I wasnt called back about anything... 1/7/26 UPDATE: THEY ABSOLUTELY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE ELDERLY OR THE DISABLED! AND THEY ONLY COMMENT AND REACT TO GOOD REVIEWS! THIS COMPANY IS DISGUSTING! THEIR TREATMENT OF THE ELDERLY AND DISABLED IS APPALLING! I CALLED AND SPOKE TO CUSTOMER SERVICE ON CHRISTMAS EVE AND HAVENT HEARD ANYTHING.. WHERES MY CALL BACK FROM A MANAGER HUH?? ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING COMPANY. I hope they go bankrupt. Terrible company run by even worse people. 12/24/2025 Would give negative stars if i could i had a Terrible experience on christmas eve of all days. They have carts for the disabled but they arent allowed to leave the store so how are the disabled supposed to get in to the store to shop? Youre employees are rude and poorly trained. And poorly managed, the manager i "spoke" too didnt tell me her name just told me that the carts cant leave the store and had no answer for me on how the disabled are supposed to get to them, if they are in the store and not allowed to leave the store.. if they could walk they wouldnt need the cart... im absolutely disgusted and outraged at the treatment of the disabled and the elderly. I will NEVER go to this location again. Terrible all around experience
