The weather was sunny and snow was melting and the roads, sidewalk, and floor were wet. I had a shopping bag from a local business and didn't want it on the floor so I figured setting it in a chair would be a rational move. We were seated at a hightop table with two chairs, so I grabbed one from the bar (within reach of my table) and set the bag there. The bartender chastised me and said I couldn't do that. She had to have that seat at the bar, not 12 inches away at my table. There was NO ONE seated at any of the 7-8 seats at the bar, and for the entire time we were there, no one was seated in any of the seats at the bar. She offered to keep my bag up by the hostess stand, but really? It wouldn't have caused any problems for them to let it slide, it just expressed to me they have zero ability to recognize customer service. Not unusual nowadays, but still disappointing. I prefer to keep track of my stuff, and this was such a small "ask" from a customer, it's astounding they couldn't accommodate me. I'm not from the area, so it's probably no loss to them, but I won't be returning there.
