We had a great time at memoir! Celebrated 2 birthdays and got the private dining area. It was so cozy and quiet it felt really special. Mo was our waitress and she was phenomenal! Great service and attention to detail. The manager stopped by and also was friendly and helpful. Overall 10/10 experience and will be back again.

Went here for my birthday and they had a little birthday card for the table signed by the wait staff, it was so sweet and went the extra mile. Our server Zoe was phenomenal she was so kind in making sure I had option for gluten free and took extra care to make the experience awesome. Looking forward to returning.

Make sure to make a reservation! We made one during happy hour! The sushi and bread starter were good!! The seasonal sea salt pudding dessert should permanently be added to the menu! I didn’t get a pic of that :/ The atmosphere is so cute! There is a scan and pay parking lot near the restaurant! We loved it and will be back!

WOW!!!! This was a great experience. We are visiting from Tennessee and celebrated a family wedding at Memoir. Our server was amazing. Took great care of us and gave us great suggestions from the menu. By far one of the best meals we have had while visiting Omaha. We look forward to our next visit when we are back in town. Thank you for a great evening!

I wanted to love Memoir. And for most of the evening, I did.
Six of us—myself, my two business partners, and our significant others—chose Memoir for our one annual dinner together. We wanted somewhere special, and Memoir seemed like the right choice.
The food? Fantastic. Our waiter? Genuinely great. The ambiance? Beautiful, if a bit cold near the door. So far, so good.
Here's where the story turns.
Around 8:45, the kitchen chef approached our table in his white coat. We were excited—it's always a nice touch when the chef comes out. Instead, he hastily asked if we needed anything, then told us we needed to leave. Another reservation was coming. It felt like a pretense. He was only there to tell us to go.
Our plates had just been cleared. We'd paid the bill ten minutes earlier. We weren't lingering.
Here's what stung: a quick word from our waiter when we paid would have been fine. Instead, the chef delivered the message—and wasn't quiet about it. The couple next to us looked over: "Wow, you guys must have done something wrong. That was weird."
We hadn't. We'd simply had dinner.
This was our one night a year together. We left feeling less like valued guests and more like we'd overstayed a welcome we didn't know had an expiration.
The food was excellent—I'll say that clearly. But hospitality is more than what's on the plate. There's a book called Unreasonable Hospitality by Will Guidara. I'd recommend reading.
Research shows negative experiences are stored in memory almost instantly, while positive ones take longer to stick. Two and a half hours of great food, undone by a single graceless moment at the door.
I won't be back. When friends ask about Memoir, I'll tell them the food is great. But I'll also tell them this story.
