This is the sonic closest to our house, so when my hubs is in a hurry, he sometimes has me grab him some burgers here. This is even though it looks like it’s poorly maintained, with an obvious hole in the weather stripping of the drive up window, and several lanes that no longer have speakers, usually with orange traffic cones in the lanes, to prevent people from pulling into them. More than once, we haven’t received what we ordered, once we got home and looked in the bag, and often it’s cold. Tonight, I ordered his usual, very specifically, and when the cashier gave me the total, it was too small an amount, so I knew she hadn’t keyed in the order correctly. My hubs reminded me that this has happened in the past, and she probably got it incorrect, so we need to be sure she knows what we ordered. When I got to the window, I explained she must’ve made an error because that total was not enough for what I ordered. She then charged me the correct amount and acknowledged her mistake. This was after I sat waiting at the window while she finished a conversation with a coworker that was clearly not about business. She then resumed her chat, animatedly so, while we waited another five minutes for our order of three burgers, with no special order, straight off the Carhop Classics menu. We got home and once again, the order was incorrect, and it was cold. The drive to our house is less than three minutes, and at 7 pm on a Tuesday night, there was very little traffic to negotiate. Sadly, this is a chronic problem at this location and indicates that management is absent. Go to the sonic on the other side of town, because it is a tad bit quicker and less likely to get your order wrong. Although for us, the longer drive may still get us cold burgers. Luckily, there’s a brand new McD moving in right next door to this Sonic!
