Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
Customers frequently reported long wait times, often exceeding 30 minutes, with many expressing frustration over slow service in both drive-thru and dine-in experiences.
Food Quality
The quality of food received mixed reviews; while some enjoyed the burgers, many complained about cold, bland, or improperly prepared items.
Staff Attitude
Customer service was inconsistent, with some staff being described as rude or unhelpful, while a few employees received praise for their friendliness.
Cleanliness
Multiple reviews highlighted issues with cleanliness, including dirty dining areas and restrooms, as well as the presence of flies.

Restaurant 1559 - Winston Salem North Carolina.
HORRIBLE- waited 40 minutes for my food, the second line cars were getting their food in a timely manner. When given my order IT WAS THE WRONG ORDER!!! When I received my actual order, they forgot my cinnamon roll and the fries - mid; the burger only tasted like mustard bleh! A very thin patty that it made it seem I was only eating bread and lettuce and MUSTARD! Also to have the drive thru runners say that they were not paying attention to the orders they were giving out is mind blowing!!! Would not recommend, clearly leadership does not reign supreme in this establishment. And for those who said the spicy ketchup is amazing are wrong - tastes like old ketchup to me! 0/10.
PS the women who took my order was very sweet and kind

This has to be a the worst fast food experience I have ever had. 30 minutes in a drive thru line and it was even a long line. I wish I could give the service a 0. Minutes had to go back in because I ask for ketchup and they didn’t give me any. When I went inside for ketchup I had to wait 10 minutes for the person running the register to come out of the bathroom. There was a man that came inside to get his order and he was clearly Upset have been waiting for entirely too long for the order. The people working, their must be at the lowest common denominator. They lacked communication and overall work ethic. Sloths could move faster than these folks.

Pulled up to the drive thru on Sunday am 1/11 at 09:30 and just sat there, (waited about 10 minutes) nobody acknowledged us so I drove up to the window and waited for about 5 minutes and nobody came… drove around saw people eating in the dining room, there was an employee outside on his phone yelling at someone, we went back through the drive thru with the exact same experience so we drove around and the same employee was still outside being loud on his phone. We went inside to order and the guy at the counter wouldn’t take our order because he said he didn’t know how to use the register… obviously we left.

First time going and ran into some interesting issues. Heads up to everyone going there that their self order kiosk has a software glitch that caused the system to charge us nearly 25% more than what it displayed on the screen (which I didn’t realize until after we were charged). However, the customer service provided by the manager was great and they apologized for the issue, voided our first order, clearly explained when we would see the adjustment on our card, re entered our order herself and didn’t charge us the $.40 extra for one of the sides.
They also came out and brought us some extra goodies which was very kind.
The food overall wasn’t anything special which was a letdown for us. The one bright spot is that this may be one of the few restaurants serving peach tea. The jalepeño ranch was also good with the fries if you’re into that sort of thing.
Probably only going back if looking for a quick burger while in that part of town.

Where do I even begin. I grew up with Whataburger in Florida. This is by far the worst location I've ever been to. Tonight was the 4th and final chance we gave this place, trying to give a shot to a nostalgic favorite. Our first trip was in the opening weeks, which led to a drive thru time of over an hour. People in front of us were leaving or shouting at the staff for not getting orders out. When we finally got food, they were out of sauces already so the dry food was barely salvagable. The 2nd and 3rd trips were all missing ingredients that we had to go back inside for. A missing order of fries here, missing sauces or sandwich toppings there, its always something. Tonight we order and get home to experience the worst yet. The chicken strips had stale breading, dry meat, both orders of fries were old, chewy, stale... the Spicy sandwich, which comes with Mayo, was drenched in honey mustard instead???? What the heck is this location doing. The reviews speak for themselves. The Management doesnt care, the staff doesnt care, corporate doesnt care. Just close it down already so we aren't tempted to waste any more money here on another nostalgia trip.
