Terrible store. They always close early, never respecting store hours. They are never open past 8pm, even though their hours are until 11pm. There is always a hand scrawled note taped to the door saying they closed because of some reason. It's every day. You can't depend on them being open at any given time. Go to the Hawthorne Rd location, they always adhere to store hours.
Almost passed it! It's in the cut, but never the less has full stock of any grocery store, with all one's needs!

I go to this food lion very often that they know me well and my children, today was disgraceful visit! I called before leaving my house to see if they were open because of the weather, they said closing at 3, I arrived at 2:15, quickly grabbed all I needed and got to register at 2:30 and was checking out. I was never rude or nasty to the cashier, I handed her my items laid on the counter. I let her scan my mvp and I told her I would be using my wic card first then payment, I was nice the whole time. She was rude and nasty and rushing, my mother had her hand out for the receipt and instead of the cashier handing it to my mother she threw it down on the counter. So my reply was “that was really rude and if you did not want to be at work in the storm then you should have called out instead of being rude to paying guest” she started laughing and telling the other male cashier across from her and then he proceeded to yell to the manager that I was being rude, while all in front of my two children as well, I told the manager “the cashier threw the receipt at my mother instead of handing it to her and if she did not want to be at work then she needed to call out”, the only thing the manager said was that “she would speak with her”, no apology, no nothing. It was completely unnecessary and unacceptable! I am very disappointed and upset with the behavior from these three individuals. I understand the weather conditions but if you’re open to the public until 3 then you need to be at your best working in customer service not rude! I was in and out before 3pm so there was no need to be rude or to throw my receipt at my mother or yell in front of my children, 5 and 4 year old. I came out in the weather to grab items not to be rude to and disrespected. I will be calling corporate office about this manner because I have worked in customer services since I was 14 years old and I have never treated anyone like how we were treated today. That is not how food lion should be represented, if you’re open then act accordingly not rude and disrespectful. Go find a different job not around the public. Like I said if you did not want to be in this weather working then you should have called out! Bottom line. Never disrespect me in front of my children, that’s a can you don’t want open! I am a human being and I did not deserve that treatment when spending my money with the company that pays your checks! Young people need to learn how to be respectful. I will be back to speak on this matter. Believe that.

This Food Lion is close to where we live. Easy to get to from Stratford Rd. The store is ok. The cashiers and other staff aren't very welcoming. They never look happy. The cleanliness is ok. The produce is a hit or miss. Sometimes there are expired produce. I will say that some items on sale, that we use, are cheaper than Harris Teeters. Parking can be challenging depending on the day and time.
